Re: Our New Housekeeper * blush *
Deep down inside I dont feel good doing it, maybe because of my own upbringing and memories from my own childhood. Kids of this age were treated as royalty, the smallest nakhra and wish was taken care of, and the elders used to say "Abhi inn ki umar hay, zidd karnay ki, khailany koodnay ki, jab waqt aiey gaa tu subb seekh jaien gay"
Kids should be treated as kids... There is a age and time to learn everything and somehow I cant swallow the idea of a lil 8 year old mopping floors and taking care of garbage to earn a few lousy cents.
It could be part of a daily routine, a part of discipline that they need to be taught, but not something related to EARNING and making him feel he has to do all that, to get money so he could buy candy and stuff.
I agree with uncle JB :)
Kids should be treated as kids. :)
