This weeks dawat invite is being extended to Sara516. So lets put our thinking caps on and try and make it really special for her:@:

Re: Our Guest this week - Sara516

ok .. i don't believe in cooking sooo many things that a person can't even enjoy something because you feel greedy and want to taste everything as the host made an effort and cooked all that gorgeous stuff for you .. isay the menu should be kept moderate so the guest can enjoy to more than 1 serving if they like 1 or 2 things more than other!!

lets see.. i'll serve what i like :D

Starters:
Aaloo tikki - with loads of different spices fried with a coating of beaten egg and chilli flakes .. spicy but not over powering!

Main course:
Home made Keema Naans
Mint sauce
Imli sauce
Raita

Desert:
Triffle with cake at the bottom, then jelly, then custard on top and then an assortment of fruits inclusing strawberries, mango and tinned peaches with fresh whipped cream on top and then grated flake chocolate on top (my mum makes awesome triffle and has these gorgeous crystal dessert bowls/cups sorta thing for individual serving that shows all the layers- the family loves it so i will make this)

Followed by:
Home made marble cupcakes and tea!

Re: Our Guest this week - Sara516

For Sara,

When she arrives, my chotees will greet her with a bhangra. My husband will take her husband to masjid for maghrib ki namaaz. :chai:

Meanwhile, I shall warm up the food and lay it out while Sara shares her shopping tales with me. Also, I shall open and swoon over the large gift bag Sara has brought for me and tell her she didn’t really have to do that but inside my belly, laddoos will be phooting.

The menu today is desi style Chinese:

Hot and sour classic soup

Spicy hakka noodles
Chili chicken
Chicken manchurian
Vegetable fried rice
Beef ginger

Drinks: Ginger ale with lemon wedges (:hmmm:)

For dessert: Fortune cookies stolen from local Teriyaki joint slightly warmed up to look as if I made them. And fruit custard.

Saunf and chaalia.

Then we’d gossip about GS :@:

Re: Our Guest this week - Sara516

I was reading about the Big Dipper earlier, so my theme is going to be, um, dipping. A relaxed evening, with a movie or two.

Dips:
guacamole, tzatziki, aioli, bagnacauda, siracha sauce, tamarind sauce, mango & mint chutney, four bean & red chilli sauce.
Dippers:
rosquilletas, tortillas strips, potato wedges, fries.
peppers, asparagus, celery, artichokes, daikon, carrots
A selection of souvlaki.

Later,
Iced tea and/or frozen bananas dipped in chocolate/nuts/sprinkles.
