^ Are you going? :)

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

nope i am not. Brad invited me but seeing Jolie with him makes my blood boil  so I said no. :snooty:

So out of best pictures nominations, who has seen film(s) nominated?

I have seen midnight in paris.

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

I have seen "War Horse" Loved it...awesome movie!!

I think Meryl Streep should get the Best Actress...

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

darn I have watched only Midnight in paris of the above :bummer:

I cannot decide until I watch all of them :chai:

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

I haven’t watched a single one, boy am i busy or what .. :chai:

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

“hugo” “moneyball”“war horse” “the help” are not bad movies. I want to see “The Descendants”, “the Artist” not my cup of tea.
For animated movies I like “kung fu panda2” Its a cute movie. :cb:

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

I've watched the help, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball
The descendants and Hugo are in my netflix queue

I'm surprised Tintin isn't nominated in the animated films category!

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

Artist not my type either. Descendants is on my to watch list and should watch in a plane or something soon.

I am surprised about tin tin too.

So this means you actually have a life these days  :chai:

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

I really hope Brad Pitt wins for the Moneyball. Please no Cloony! I know he was good in the Descendants but I still find him overrated and underwhelming. For best actress, I think Michelle got it locked, but academy will award streep for even farting lol. Don't get me wrong I love her but I want someone new winning it.

I can't believe Kirsten Dunst and Tilda Swinton got snubbed, not so worried about Tilda but I think Kirsten will have to wait for sometime before getting another film like Melancholia. She was amazing in it. As with Leo DiCaprio, thats an epic snub, another one of his Oscar bait movie that went down the drain...someone please give him something. lol

I see Woody wiining for midnight in Paris and the Artist bagging the best picture award.

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

I havent seen J Edgar yet. How is it?

Midnight in Paris was a really good movie and a great candidate. loved it!

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

Did anyone see this??? It was India’s formal entry for the Oscar’s, but did not make the short list…:frowning:

Amazing movie!!! Zarina Wahab is the younger sister of one of my mother’s best friends, so I am a bit partial to anything Zarina Aunty acts in…lol!

Check it out, if you can!!

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

I've seen it in bits and pieces, its a good movie, I found it a little boring and I thought Leo was good enough to get a nomination, though it was certainly not good enough for winning the award.

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

i have not seen any of these movies.

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

If Leo didnt win it for Blood Diamond, I doubt he will win it for any other movie. Too bad he had the misfortune of competing with a fantastic Will Smith that year.

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

True. I also loved his portrayal of Howard Hughes in Aviator, I thought his performance was good enough to bag an academy but seems like academy one day will just decide to award him for waiting for so long. lol

I think Leo is phenomenal, one of the best actor of our generation but he really needs to stop taking himself so seriously and take a break from doing the typical Oscar bait movies. I want him to diversify and take a full on romantic or comedic role for a change. The dude needs to stop running away so hard from his Titanic romantic boy image...

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

me neither.

Re: Oscar nominations 2012

Aviator was good too and he did really well. He has done enough already to break that titanic image and become a top notch all round actor. I can go on and on about revolutionary road, the departed, inception etc etc.
