Dear all,
I would appreciate if someone over here could tell me about orphanages in Islamabad / Rawalpindi area. I am aware that Edhi and SoS are doing good work, but there must be others as well. I am specifically targeting good organizations which may not have hundreds of children, but are giving quality education, accomodation and healthcare to whoever is there. Any direct leads / contacts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Re: Orphanages in Islamabad / Rawalpindi
Let's start , I can provide a space of about 2000 Sq yards for this in Islamabad if you promise to make a small building in begining and rest will be done by others here . I am sure ,Very good people here , I appriciate you thoughts .
Books and stationary from me. I will deliver the stuff whenever its needed. no one is getting money...ok?
Re: Orphanages in Islamabad / Rawalpindi
Apologies for the late reply.
@Anwer Pasha, at the moment, I find it rather hard to commit the time, energy and financing needed to start a project anew. I can, however, make arrangements to help an already running venture. I am sure if I talk to my family and friends, the contribution can be decent, smooth and regular. However, I will have someone from my side verify the procurement and consumption. If you're aware of some fair, honest and kind hearted people running an orphanage, do let me know.
The focus is not specifically on large organizations with thousands of children, but the organizations that are actually doing a great job. Children should get proper accomodation, proper food/nutrition, medical care and quality education. In the end, if we are able to give proper careers to them, it would be a great success.
We can perhaps get more people on this forum to contribute as well.
Re: Orphanages in Islamabad / Rawalpindi
We have very good people here but I am sorry to say that I don't know any such organisation here . I trust 'Eadhi' but they don't have any such place here . I am stick with my offer but can not run any such thing because of of being totally un-experienced .
Re: Orphanages in Islamabad / Rawalpindi
Pasha sb, I spent some time looking for orphanages in Islamabad / Rawalpindi and came across this
Hamara Ghar - An orphanage in Islamabad catering to young girls. These guys seem to be doing nice work and it might be good idea to support them. I also found out from their facebook page that they were looking for a donor to build a larger orphanage. The following is copied from their page
** “Our dream is to construct Hamara Ghar -Orphanage house in a 4 kanal land in near future. This state of-art Orphan House will have the capacity of 200 children including a school building. We already have a donor for the construction cost. We are just looking for a donor who maybe able to donate a 4-6 kanal land in the vicinity of Islamabad.I know … Dreams do come true !” **
If you can arrange for land, I can start gearing up for my part. I say let’s start!
Re: Orphanages in Islamabad / Rawalpindi
Let me know the people first , I am sorry but I knew few and hundreds or may be more here in capital vacinity which are working but their main concern is to attract foreign donations . Personally I hate this idea . I can not say about this one . Looking good . Ask some one to check them first . Than We shall go forward . I was having some dream like this a decade ago . I wanted to make it a place very away . I selected Ziarat , went there , selected a building , paid advance but the same days , accident of my son occured and life was suddenly changed .
I am now old but still struggling . This is too my own dream but now difficult for me manage much .
Re: Orphanages in Islamabad / Rawalpindi
Pasha sb, Unfortunately I myself am living abroad, so I can't verify things on my own. I can, however, ask some family members to visit this project and give me a report. They are located in D-12/1. On the first look, they seem decent people .. baqi Wallahu aalim.
I perfectly understand your situation and admire that you still have the desire to help. May Allah bless you!
Since you're in Islamabad, please try to inquire on your own as well.
