In a spectacular demonstration of international diplomacy, Pakora, a Peshawar native arrived for a weekend of fun and sun in Orlando!
Yes friends, as his visit to the US comes to an end, our little Pakora migrated from the cold of Minnepolis to the sunny confines of Ohioguys’ pool house! Despite airline difficulties on Friday night, Pakora arrived at Orlando International Airport to be greeted by Ohioguy. After passing each other once in the lobby, they met up and headed back to the home of Ohioguy. A late dinner with other visiting house guests followed, with the conversations going late into the evening. Not content with the evening yet, the two principals headed off into the Orlando Downtown to find nightlife. After attending a loud street party, the two ended the evening around 2:30am.
The next day Pakora enjoyed some swimming and exploration of the downtown Orlando area. Ohioguy had to run back to the airport to pick up his daughter mid-day, then returned to a rather full household. The evening had an outdoor barbecue with steak, veggies, salad and liquid refreshments. (see picture post dinner). While most of the houshold prepared for travel the next day, young Pakora returned to the scene of the previous nights street party.
Unfortunately, Sunday required the Ohioguy family to drive to South Carolina for his fathers’ funeral, thus the planned weekend with Pakora was cut short. A friend returned him to the airport, for his return flight to his sisters house.
In short, our family and friends found Pakora to be charming, well travelled, well educated, and a delight to have around the house. An excellent house guest!

Apparently he went to visit Faisal in California also. He has had an open invitiation to my house for sometime, and has been in the US for more than three months. But he finally arranged the visit the weekend before his departure. He spent all those months in Minneapolis over the winter. Brrr....
