Re: Originality on your wedding day?
Hey Femme Fatele, is that mohsin & sons in Rawalpindi? I had my walima outfit made there. I wonder if anyone else has the same design. What is this website you can look at other people's outfits??
Re: Originality on your wedding day?
Don't worry too much about originality Sarah, just make sure you get an outfit that you LIKE and it suits you and flatters you. Don't worry who else has it or has similar. Also with other wedding ideas, do whatever appeals to you, whether is totally different or something borrowed, but as long as it pleases you and is manageable.
As for the ghostly white makeup, some brides never get a trial run done, and trust some stranger beautician to do their makeup, and its too late to wash and re-do. If only you were in pakistan, I LOVED LOVe LOVEDDDDD my makeup from depilex. It wasn't white, rather my skin tone....and the eyeshadow was done amazing. Everyone loved it. I would definitely do makeup trials, both at like Macy's/Nordstrom/Sephora...but also at home to see what colors suit you the best and TELL/FORCE the beautician to use colors you want
Re: Originality on your wedding day?
well at the boutique they showed me lots of lenghas, and what i did was pick things that i liked from each lengha (colour, kaam, border, style, etc) and told them to make a whole new lengha...know what i mean? i sort of "designed" it myself...also added my two cents as well...
and these days its hard to be oringial at weddings..for the past year, every wedding ive been to had alsmot the same ideas...slideshows, entrance songs being the same, how the couple/family would walk into the hall......these days a lot of pple are going crazy with weddings...what would be unique this time woudl to keep in simple...liek tone things down....
Re: Originality on your wedding day?
Afro, ure scaring me..
Im scared to go for a trial now.. ;bummer:
Afshi, i wasnt talkin abt the ceremony, just the dress alone..but yeah u hav a point

^ Oye..tum meri ammi ho???![]()
Re: Originality on your wedding day?
Sara,
Don't mean to scare you but better to be prepared and have done the trial make-up run rather to get a surprise on the big day. :)
Re: Originality on your wedding day?
Actually better yet, get make up that you already use for the wedding. You already know what looks good and suits you...talking about foundation/concealer....so you can just tell beautician to use that and play with eyeshadow.lipstick colors.

lolllz
Re: Originality on your wedding day?
yeah i agree with you to an extent...i wouldn't wanna look too factory made and originality is good but i cant help but wonder to make a really original look or a one off design for your wedding day is gonna cost loads to make and it would only be for one day..would it really b worth it? maybe concentrate on other stuff too like maybe have really good food at the wedding or a really nice venue coz then it would still make ur wedding stand out
Re: Originality on your wedding day?
You can hire belly dancers...I went to a wedding in Brooklyn and they had belly dancers..it was really neat....i admit that's haram and all, but the dancers were really good.
Re: Originality on your wedding day?
It is Haram SHEEN Don't suggest anything that will lead us towards bad things
