Re: Origin of Dhoti, Dress of the Punjab!
"Dignity" and "elegance" are subjective...
Amongst some people a baggy tent salwar and a turban too big for the head is dignified, to others a skintight churidar pajama (which looks like chicken legs) and a wooly quaid hat (which looks like a dead guinea-pig) is dignified but others will find both these form of dress most hideous and unaesthetic...
True but I have yet to see someone dare wear dhothi in a formal setting outside the close confines of villages. If you insist they do, then please come to hidepark in a dhoti for me to see how elegant you look.
Or let us request Gen. Musharaf to give his next address to the General Assembly, UN, in a dhoti. How about this proposal?
