A fellow hoarder, I see. 
I justify not throwing anything away by saying that I will keep it for “future reference.” That doesn’t make a ton of sense as colours and products look different in the container than on, but yeah. Lol.

I have acrylic drawers similar to the one posted earlier.
I hardle throw any old makeup away, I dont use it but i refuse to throw it away!!!
I'm the same way! If a liquid or cream item changes texture or smells funny then I throw it out. But even then, I have lipsticks that's been with me for 5+ years and is still usable….I can't throw it away but don't use it anymore either. And with powder items, they stay good for decades lol.

I disagree….that logic makes perfect sense. 
If the product is still good (hasn’t changed texture/color/smell), then there is no reason to simply throw it away. What if I change my mind later and want to use it? Its a good financial decision to just hold onto it. :halo:

I don't have makeups but I love organizing things. I suggest you to visit a dollar store and have some clear plastic containers. You can also label it with chalkboard stickers or motex labeller. You can also organize the makeups according to its color or brand. There are also some cute ideas on makeup organization on Pinterest.

but sometimes you end up collecting so many things...and can't figure out how to use them all and end up not using them properly!! :(

Nah....see this is where a special "logic" must be used. Just because you have it....doesn't mean you have to use it lol. I have eyeshadows/lipsticks/blushes that I have not used probably in over a year. But I keep them b/c there is no guarantee that I won't want to use them in the future. :D
BTW, there actually are true make-up collectors who simply buy the items and never use it. Especially high end items from Dior, Guerlain, Chanel etc.....limited edition items with pretty designs. Women who literally buy to collect and never use it once.
