How often do you go through your wardrobe to get rid of stuff you no longer wear/need?

I do it with change of season, we only have 2 seasons in my village, so every 6 months.

However, i only wear desi clothes, so the wardrobe never looks as neat as western clothes in magazines. Any ideas on how to organise desi clothes?

Organising wardrobes

I usually do it once a year or when I start running out of room and its starting to bother me. I recently did my closet now I have to move on to my pjs drawer, can't seem to fit anything in one drawer anymore.

I haven't done a clear out in ages :( I keep buying and buying but can't get rid of stuff.

i have three suitcases under the bed that are supposed to be clothes to take back to Pakistan to give out, but doesn't look like we're going for a couple of years

Every 6-8 months is a good idea. Basically, anything that hasnt been used in a year, chances are a person wont use them ever....

I think I'm a secret hoarder :(

I love buying new clothes, but have a lot of difficulty getting rid of older items. I always tell myself that I might wear that cute top again and end up holding on to it.

^^ I'm the same way. I just started cleaning out my closet and after half my closet I have 3 huge garbage bags full of clothes and accessories, a lot of it is still new/wearable but I told myself that if I didn't wear it at all last year it's getting tossed. I'm letting my friends come have a look at the stuff next week and whatever's left will go to goodwill.

i buy acording to season so in winter will hv winter ones out etc

I'm actually quite good about clearing out items I don't use or wear anymore, it's probably because I get bored quickly and aside from keeping wardrobe staples I like to change up my style regularly. I wish I could keep everything, but it'd be impractical for me as I'd have no room in my wardrobe otherwise.
