Its very expensive! But organic foods and meats means no pesticides, no hormones, no antibiotics. I usually dont go for it because of the prices. I'm sure its healthier tho.
Organic foods are grown in natural soil (without the use of pesticides), which has more nutrients. Chemical processes which are used in regular farming methods help speed up the growth of the plant but the structure of the nutrients is disturbed. So organic produce has more vital nutrients retained in them. Organic milk and eggs come from animals that graze naturally without the use of hormones or antibiotics.
However, there's all these new studies that show that all organic food isn't all what it claims to be and we should go for what's certified organic now.
Personally, I buy some organic fruits and vegetables. We don't like the taste of organic milk although some people love it. I do buy organic eggs once in a while.
People are doing pretty OK with regular produce it seems. I am not sure if we really need to switch completely at this point or not.
^ I agree. Its just that when I go inside a Whole Foods store...I feel like Im being deprived...lol. Am I really missing out on something or is there really a lot to this organic food craze that Im not getting?
I think as long as we eat food in a healthy way and keep our food as pure as possible, we're fine.
I always buy organic eggs and milk because I can't stand the smell of conventional eggs and milk, and sometimes I buy Organic cheese, it tastes so rich and creamy. But other than that I buy non organic stuff.
