O'Reilly's Safari Bookshelf

I just logged on to Safari.Oreilly.com and it turns out my university apparently has a subscription to it. Using one of the computer labs in my university i can browse and read around 255 titles.

Safari is really an amazing site for anyone interested in a huge number of computer related books.

Ive been toying around with the idea of getting a subscription for it for $14.99 per month where i can read up to 10 books each month online, and on top of that they give you first 14 days as a free trial. Cant lose much really.

Does anyone else here use it ?

Re: O'Reilly's Safari Bookshelf

I've been using it for the past two years... my subscription is expensed at work under professional development :)
Their variety has improved over the years... and I've actually gotten to buy two titles after reading them online. Since then, they've actually implemented an easier way to print content and now I wouldn't need to buy the hardcopies.

Re: O'Reilly's Safari Bookshelf

Im now looking to get someone to share a subscription with me :) So i can read more than the 255 titles in my universities bookshelf.

Re: O'Reilly's Safari Bookshelf

Coolbreeze, thats not a problem,

However recently i have decided that it would be best if i stop stealing software/books and so on via p2p or whatever.

Hence trying to go legal.

Re: O’Reilly’s Safari Bookshelf

Same is the case with netlibrary … they’ve got loads of recources on IT :k:
sciencedirect also has some nice journals/articles/dicsussions etc and are a good read.
