Ordinary eye shadow palettes

Say you enter a shop and see an eye shadow palette full of nice and bright colors , and when you try it, you find that its highly pigmented and nice and soft shadow… Would you buy it? an ordinary non branded eye shadow palette?

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

What do you mean?

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

I wouldn't. If you asked this question before I started uni my answer would've been yes. I'm careful about what I put on my face now.

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

er, arent they all made in China anyway?

CB, one of the BEST eyeshadows I have were an impulsive buy.. the brand's called Art Deco and it's really pigmented, shimmery and stays for hours!

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

Yes I do .. :hmmm:

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

Art Deco really? They're all over here in Lahore, maybe I should pay them a visit on MM Alam road.

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

Yup I would. I actually have a really cheap palette that I once bought in a pharmacy. The colours are amazingly pigmented and I think I payed no more that £2 for it.

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

There is this palette i got from Superdrug....i never shop there but it caught my eye...can't remember what it's called (will look for it and report back), but it's really cheap and had some awesome bright colours that were highly pigmented. I bought it, and tested it on my arm before applying it to my face.

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

I bought the bottom right one. At £3.50, you can’t go wrong. Though i would advise that you use primer underneath to make the colours really pop.

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

Wow ... thanks everyone , please carry on to share some more about the non branded stuff ... not just eye shadows but other cosmetics and skin products as well ...

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

H&M lip gloss! Kinda branded but not in the make up sense. Very very pretty colours!

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

^ agree!! love their nailpolishes as well

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

I have the top right pallete from the link that Maroush provided. I got it from superdrug (I think they're the main stockists of BeautyUK in the uk) and I too would highly recommend it. Colours aren't that strong on their own, but as Maroush said with a primer they really do 'pop.' Can't really go wrong at that price to be honest.

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

Oh and the Sleek palettes from Superdrug, which are around £5/6 I think are supposed to be brilliant too! Many gurus on youtube are raving about them. I have tried out a few colour swatches on the back of my hand while in superdrug and the colour pay off has been brilliant even without a base. I never purchased it as I already have too much make up at home that I never even use.... but I think I may just go and get it. Another palette won't hurt :)

I was just going to mention the Sleek palettes! I was in Superdrug the other day and the colours in those palettes were super pigmented and pretty. I'd definitely buy them next time I'm there!

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

Coastal Scents is great... has over 88 shades and is cheap too. You can search it on google

H&M has lipgloss? I didn't know that.

Re: Ordinary eye shadow palettes

Beautyuk I find is really good. I often buy lots of nail varnishes )salon professional range)from them because the quality is flawless and they are quite glossy. I get them for 99p in a makeup stockist based in our towncentre(I think I told you about it ages ago CB) and the eyshowdow palette are £2 from the same shop. Sometimes if I want makeup for a one off event I will get the Beautyuk stuff because it does not hurt your bank balance and if you don't use it that much then it is not a waste of money either.
