Ordinary boys?

Sorry for bringing in another discussion on the London attacks - some of you may have already shared your opinions, but I have only just read details about the identities of the bombers and their families. I would like to know if these boys fit into the rank of the average college-going British Muslim- I’m not entirely aware of the societal structure of the Muslim community. One of the guys went to Leeds university, had a wife and child - so I wonder why these kids would do such a thing. Some suggest that they are disillusioned with life, not successful careerwise and that many British Pakistanis/Muslims havent really assimilated into British society even though their parents came there 30 years ago. Where did they go astray? And to what extent are these extremist Mullas influencing these youngsters at the masjids and maddressahs? I fear something like this may happen even here in SA, I wish we knew what they were teaching these kids.

Re: Ordinary boys?

Nothing is normal about any of this.

Re: Ordinary boys?

It really makes one wonder, if 4 of these guys were so strongly influenced, there must be 100s if not more, like-minded guys out there.

Re: Ordinary boys?

Can I vote for anything here?

Re: Ordinary boys?

I find it interesting that everybody believes the media tells you the truth. In many cases it provides a bais and half of the facts. Check WA. There is a thread there which states that they aren't certain anymore that these 4 were responsible for the attacks.

Re: Ordinary boys?

The media tells us what is the most obvious and sadly "muslim" terror is the most obvious right now.

Re: Ordinary boys?

^-- and what makes you think it is so obvious? They could be Hindu's or Christian or Jews in disguise !

Re: Ordinary boys?

Any proof ?

Re: Ordinary boys?

They are generalizing for you Cat-Woman. There is nothing common between them and any average British/American-Pakistani College/University going guy.

They hung out with wrong guys, they had extreme views and way to take their anger out. This is exactly what they did. The media might present it as the entire Muslim youth is going through with this but this ain't true.

Re: Ordinary boys?

Man with a plan, thanks for that insight, but I still think that there is some naivite in that opinion. The majority of the mullahs out there are teaching kids about how bad the west is - the subtle and not so subtle messages are undoubtedly out there, and those not so educated or aware of Islam are easily falling for this.

Re: Ordinary boys?

Why? How many thousands of muslim guys have studied at university in the UK since the first Gulf war and NOT done any suicide bombing? We had 4 guys who went to these lengths last week which means we might well have a fringe group, small in number but dangerous in impact. That’s the reality.

Re: Ordinary boys?

It's not just about the act that was carried out, there were lots of other people behind this - the financers, the masterminds. It's easy to say that these were some bad eggs, there may be many other young men with similar viewpoints who just havent gone to these extremes. I'm just saying I'm worried about what they're teaching these kids in some madressahs.

Re: Ordinary boys?

If you believe that those 3 young guys were behind this, I have a bridge to sell you.

Re: Ordinary boys?

UK madrassehs worry me to. I am ashamed that the most cosmopolitan city in England has come to be named Londonistan. What the hell is going on here?

Re: Ordinary boys?

what is really sad to see is how the whole world actually can 'see' the london tragedy and how the media is bringing islam into this and downgrading our paak deen once again. Yet what happens in iraq, afghanistan, palestine, kashmir etc hardly matters.

When was the last a 1 min silcence was held for the innocent people who have perished in these countries? when was the last people people actaully shed a tear for them, aren't they inncoent people 2??

American forces along with their goons are spreading 'terror' in countries like iraq and afghanistan too but as they are not muslim, it is perfectly fine hain na. How many innocent people have died after being bombed by their picture perfect laser guided missiles and their cluster bombs and what have you, when did the whole world condemn these acts and atrocities as a whole???

f****** double standards.

Re: Ordinary boys?

No Lettuce, iraq, afghan, palestine and kashmir don't hardly matter. We think about it everyday, how the islamic terrorists blow up people in those places everyday. Just like London.

Re: Ordinary boys?

^ Dildo, now behave like a good monkey and count the numbers of atrocities committed by both. When I say numbers, I mean body count...

Re: Ordinary boys?

^ yeah..muslims kill more muslims everyday than all other people combined. happy toad?

Re: Ordinary boys?

Katty, all the suspects are innocent until “proven” guilty. Since there were so many cameras around why not play all from start to the end and let the world see who actually did it? Remember Arlington Road?

Re: Ordinary boys?

Folks, when are we going to learn to discuss/argue decently :)
