I quite like the idea with wearing Morange with neutral makeup. I think it’s a gorgeous shade but am a bit unsure of what to pair it with so that it doesn’t look excessive.

The pics you posted will work. For my wedding, the MU did black liner and the shadows were silver/black in the outer corner with a slight HINT of orange in the crease.

P.S. That happened to me with a eyeliner. MAC Shade gel liner was one of my favorites but they discontinued it years ago and I have not been able to find a replacement.
