Orajel

If you’ve a fearsome toothache and you apply Orajel to it, will it nullify your roza?

if you swallow the saliva with the orajel.. yes

if u spit out the saliva... no

Re: Orajel

Anything you apply in your mouth will continuously be carried by your saliva down your throat. You can't fully control it nor can you not a.low yourself to swallow at all it; it's an automatic function.

Orajel is trickier than toothpaste, but taste in sylavia, if not overly dominant, is ok. After all, toothpaste is allowed

errr… you can spit it out. i have never swallowed toothpaste. ever. :hoonh:

Re: Orajel

^Congrats, Khatoon. Toothpaste is not meant to be applied to your gum and then left there for healing purposes, it's meant to to be spit out; you were never expected or supposed to swallow it.

i was just replying to what you said.about anything that goes into your mouth must be swallowed part.

kher... either way, Allah knows your intention.

Re: Orajel

I had asked for my mom. She needs to have a root canal done, but it won't be till next week. So the past two days it's been painful for her. She is taking antibiotics and she applied orajel and kep her roza but wondered if it was valid. I have applied orajel for mouth sores and I know that you cam still taste it in your mouth long after application. So, you can't go about spitting every few minutes when you've things to do. Plus, our saliva automatically is swallowed..it's hard to completely control it.

Re: Orajel

I would advice that your mom should skip the remaining roza. Under her condition where she may need pain killers every 4-5 hours, its ok for her to skip.

Re: Orajel

Thank you, TLK. She had said that the long gap b/w painkillers makes them less effective. I know she'd like to fast, but I think she won't keep roza tomorrow.

Re: Orajel

i don't think it has any taste to it so, if not swallowed, it should be fine.
