Saudi Arabia and Pakistan both had very similar problems of facing extremists that want to implement their agenda by force. Saudis have been much more successful in curbing these elements with much less resources compared with Pakistan. An important difference in their situation was a large unruled, lawless area out of governement control i.e, FATA in Pakistan.
Is this the best time to bring FATA under NWFP control and abolish FC regulations and extend direct provincial rule into these areas? I think it is. Few years ago lots of people in FATA as well as NWFP would have strongly objected to it by citing tribal traditional crap but i think this is best time to get these people behind theplan.
