Opposition to PMLN

Having travelled on GT road after a period of two years, one can see PMLN posters and hoardings all over felicitating their local government members. Metros, CPEC and reduction in loadshedding seems to have won people over. PPP was already a non issue in Punjab, even PTI seems to have fizzled out. Now it’s virtually PMLN in the province with no opposition.

PTI is itself to be blamed for their follies which has brought them to where they are. This is an ideal situation for PMLN. Now only blunders committed by the party can put brakes on.

Usually incumbency factor starts setting in Pakistan around the mid term mark, but the situation seems opposite at the moment. PMLN is enjoying popularity while people are getting tired of the opposition.

The only thing which set PTI apart from other parties in the previous elections was credibility, even that’s gone and they have got not much to show for performance either. Transparency and accountability is also looking like a joke as well. If elections were held today PMLN would win more seats as compared to 2013. Two years still to go, let’s see if the trend reverses during that period.

Re: Opposition to PMLN

Dharna and agitation at wrong time, making false claims and pushing country in to chaos based on white lies will be the reason for PMLN to win again and PTI to lose. It was going to be PTI's trun in 2018 no matter what! I did take a trip down on GT road from Pindi to Lahore and later onwards to Rahim yar khan. My recollection and conclusion was same.

@Jolie She will take care rest…

Re: Opposition to PMLN

I really don't care anymore. Pakistan at the end of the day is just another Muslim country where centralised dynastic rule and periodic elections is the only face of democracy.

2018 elections will only be held in KPK where Pashtuns will decide whether they want to stick with PTI or give another party a chance as they had done previously. Other than that, there are more chances of Qayamat coming in next half a century than Sindhis and Muhajirs voting for "outsiders" (God forbid x100) PTI know jack about rural politics of Punjab which decides the fate of whole of Pakistan. KPK has no Metro or Orange Train, so that leaves out wooing of urban cities of Punjab. Balcohistan and FATA don't really count. PMLN has Hamza, Maryam, Salman Sharif, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz - only a fool would think that PTI stands a chance.

So yes, Ali, for once I agree with you that PTI has no future in Pakistan. If history will remember PTI as a random third party that came, tried but failed - so be it. Let the countdown begin.

Re: Opposition to PMLN

Or as AP uncle would say, get rid of chanda bhatta khatta khor and give the party to reham. He may even switch party lines to vote her chasm-e-baddoor.
