It was a bad and misguided move by the opposition to walk out at such an opportune moment. In PTI’s defense,** PTI had wanted to speak,** but succumbed to the pressure of the joint opposition. Perhaps they felt it was better to present a joint opposition rather than go it alone. But nonetheless, Nawaz Sharif gave the opposition a soft lob, and opposition was in a prime position to fire a volley, and they chose to let it drop.
Media is right. Nawaz Sharif won yesterday. Now the opposition has to restart from a few steps behind.
The longer it is delayed, the more tired the public will get, and the more it will lose steam. Prolonging this issue is only helping Nawz Sharif.

Imran’s speech was not going to televised and Noon League speaker had already banned mobile camera recordings of Parliament debates. They truly are worse than dictators and the danger to democracy in Pakistan.

I feel PTI should’ve spoken, but I reckon at this point, putting up a display of joint opposition is more important over speaking up in a censored Parliament.

I wouldn’t say the pressure is off, the opposition is meeting right now, and the they appear quite committed to their 7 Questions demand.

I think instead of settling for some committee and wasting six months, the opposition is looking to drag the issue long enough to turn into an ultimate election campaign. It’s the idea of deadlock they’re looking to cash.
