ISLAMABAD: The Combined opposition has formally decided to file disqualification reference against President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, President Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Former Minister of State for Communication Eng. Shahid Jamil.
Following boycotting of the National Assembly Session of the combined opposition against forwarding the disqualification reference against Imran Khan to Chief Election Commission (CEC), the meeting of combined opposition was held in lobby of the Parliament in which it was formally decided that ineligibility reference would be file against President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, President Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujjat Hussain and Former Minister of State for Communication Eng. Shahid Jamil.
The reference would be handed over to responsible authorities within two days. This was disclosed by President Combined Opposition Khurshid Ahmed Shah of Pakistan Peoples Party while addressing the Press Conference here in the Parliament House on Wednesday along with others members.
He said we would file reference and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Member National Assembly Eng. Shahid Jamil today (Thursday) in the National Assembly, as Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain is being biased.
President Combined Opposition added earlier the opposition had filed references against treasury members but no one was forwarded to CEC for further action.
Member National Assembly Naveed Qamar on the occasion told media men that following filing reference against the Prime Minister and Eng. Shahid Jamil, reference would be also filed against President General Pervez Musharraf and President PLM-Q Chaudhry Shujjat Hussain.
Answering to a question, he said the combined opposition would chalk out future strategy regarding boycotting the session of the National Assembly jointly.
Commenting on the preparation of disqualification reference against the President, Prime Minister and treasury members, Deputy Secretary General of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Liaquat Baloch told Online that reference against them would be submitted at all cost.
He alleged that they were involved in immoral activities and cases had also been registered against them. He hinted that reference could also be prepared against those treasury members who did not come up to article 62 and 63 of the constitution.
Answering to a question, he held that disqualification reference forwarded to Chief Election Commission against Imran Khan is based on bias.
He said no final decision has still been taken regarding boycotting the today (Thursday) session of the National Assembly.
He said the decision to file reference against the President, Prime Minister, Ministers and Treasury members following the reference of Muttahid Quami Movement (MQM) Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr., Sher Afghan Khan Niazi against Imran Khan, Chief Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
