Govt and traders are entering into an ugly phase over the issue of with-holding tax on banking transactions. There is going to be a strike today and this shall continue till one of the party bows down.
Here is the chance for PTI to dent the traders community of PML-N.. they should come out with their tax policy and should raise the issue of Indirect taxation and with-holding tax in the parliament and that is strongly… if PTI ever wanted to take Lahore.. then this is there chance..
Policy and PTI? have you ever heard about any alternate policy from PTI?
their only policy is …rook doo…ghair loo…jala doo…band ker doo…janey na doo…aaney na doo…london main muzahira karoo…saboot lai ker jaoo…tax na doo…bill na doo…
when PTI took off…a part of me was secretly hoping that they will create a shadow cabinet, appoint shadow ministers who will publicize their policies in reply to Govt’s but…I killed that feeling very early and rightly so. Its lame to expect it from PTI.
Only recently, PTI came with a very decent shadow budget, how many people discuss that? Did media scrutinise the budget? Did you even know about it?
All this fancy talks of shadow government politics work in established democracies with high literacy rate, free and fair electoral system and professional media. Neither Imran is a career politician nor PTI is an institution like political party in an established democracy. This whole shadow government culture hasn’t even taken off in India where democracy is comparatively well settled.
PTI is still doing an excellent job at doing belligerent issue based opposition, and introducing new debates and new ideas in Pakistani politics. For now, this is more than enough. It is simply unfair to expect professional shadow government politics done by highly experienced and highly trained Western administrators belonging to institution like parties, in extremely chaotic, hostile and high on illiteracy societies with unprofessional politicians.
Maybe you should be actually sad about the fact that PTI had to come on the roads to, and take all those extreme steps to get their case on electoral rigging heard. Situation never teach such point in countries where shadow government politics is the norm.
