Opportunist South Africans willing to step in

I am flabbergasted at the audacity of Mickey Arthur and the Saffies to butt-in in the on-going Oval saga. They have basically undermined Pakistan’s threat to cancel the ODI series by offering their sorry asses to come to UK as the make-shift team. What sorry losers with no principles.

These same idiots left their commitment in SL after some made up security report on safety. Mind you, their own country man and ICC’s president Percy Sonn criticized the actions of South Africa!

Don’t worry, Mickey…we will remember your sorry ass.

Re: Opportunist South Africans willing to step in

well its quite obvious that they are acting on behalf of ECB in order to pressurise Pak into playing. I mean why the hell would their coach even give such a statement without consent of his board (its not the coach who decides which tour to go or not) and also why would he even suggest this proposal when according to himself they have not even be “officially” asked about it!!

we all know how close AUS, SA and ECB are on ICC. Its a cricket worldwar going on with countries choosing their allies. I’m not surprised by you Mr. SA… not at all!!!:snooty:

Re: Opportunist South Africans willing to step in

Didn't SA had issue in Australia. Did they forget about it.

Re: Opportunist South Africans willing to step in

Don't SA have their own internal issues with racism & Hashim Amla being called a terrorist ?

Re: Opportunist South Africans willing to step in

^^
yeah. its really disappointing.
whats up with them. Why SA and India are so scared of going against ICC.

Re: Opportunist South Africans willing to step in

lol they announce this after Pakistan is willing to play ODI's, what a buncha idiots.

Re: Opportunist South Africans willing to step in

They have enough issues to deal with as it is. Lets not open up this pandora box.

Re: Opportunist South Africans willing to step in

Agree that it is disappointing. Micky Mouse is not close to Bob Woolmer as a coach.

Ironically South Africa’s most hated umpire is also Hair. We have been done in by him so many times it is unbelievable. This man should not be allowed to stand as an umpire again.

And now the stupid SA administrators want to sweep Pakistan aside…

Cricket South Africa has announced that it will not be able to send a side to play in England should Pakistan not be able to honour their commitments.

“We were approached by the ECB earlier this week, requesting the Proteas to replace Pakistan should they withdraw from the ODI tournament against England,” Gerald Majola, the board’s chief executive told reporters. “We have turned down the request on the basis that we are committed to playing against Zimbabwe in the three-match ODI tournament starting next month.”

England have also been reported to have approached New Zealand and West Indies asking whether they could fill the gap should the need arise.

But West Indies are due to play their opening match in Malaysia on September 15 - the same day South Africa open their series against Zimbabwe - and are also likely to find themselves struggling to help out

Majola also indicated that South Africa are concluding arrangements to face as yet un-named opposition in Abu Dhabi “`We are looking for extra one-day games and they are almost finalised,” he said. "The conditions in Abu Dhabi are very similar to those in India and that will give us the preparation we need for the Champions Trophy.‘’

England have also been reported to have approached New Zealand and West Indies asking whether they could fill the gap should the need arise.

**But West Indies are due to play their opening match in Malaysia on September 12 - two days after the scheduled date for the last ODI in England - and are also likely to find themselves struggling to help out.
