Secularism is a personal choice, not a de facto consequence of your nationality.
Re: Opinions on Fareed Zakaria..
zakk for the amount of criticism he has for BUSH govt war approach, he cant be a neo con.

really? I stand corrected but from the interview it was hinted he was close to the Bush administration at one time?

Too much of a secularist? I thought Secularism was a good thing. USA is a secular country (in principle atleast, I'm sure you have 100 examples of illtreatments towards non-christians in your head). Every country in this world should strive to be Secular. Wait, are you a Sharia-loving, Islam-tha-best, Allah-forever, Down-with-other-faiths We-will-make-this-world-muslim kinds? One of those? Terrorist Sympathizer? Am I wasting my time?

He was a strong supporter until the aftermath of the Iraq war. In one of the last his editorials that I read (in late 2004) he maintained that he was unrepentant that invading Iraq was the right thing to do, but the Bush admin has screwed up everything ever since beyond measure.

Excerpts from his book can be read here http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/06/books/chapters/books.html

What is too secular.
Re: Opinions on Fareed Zakaria..
Dictiionary meaning aside, there are two types going under the secular banner - the 'no religion' and the 'all religion' types.
Unfoirtunately in Pakistan, both types are frowned at even though everyone claims undying love and loyalty for the founder.
