anyone?
Re: Opinion on color combo?
I'm having a hard time imagining it. I feel like the dupatta and lehnga would attract more attention than the shirt. The mint and gray are cool colors while the coral is warmer and louder....so the coral might overwhelm the other colors.
Hmm....what if you keep the entire color scheme cool with combinations like..
Mint...gray... lilac/lavender
Mint...gray...pale pink
Mint...gray....soft blue
Mint....soft blue...pale pink
Mint or pistachio green.......tea pink........soft blue
Mint or pistachio green.....and tea pink
Mint/pistachio green....gray...pink
Coral is a very strong color. So you can pear it with peach and mint/sea green. You might even be able to pull off turquoise blue......but I think green would look better. So..... like a coral lehnga.......peach shirt....and mint green in the dupatta.
Re: Opinion on color combo?
Three very hard colors to play with I'd say. Mint and coral could work out, not too sure about the grey. Maybe a something more towards a beige tone would go with the coral lehnga.
Re: Opinion on color combo?
Op how about two color combos instead of three?
Re: Opinion on color combo?
coral and grey can definitely work together but you need to make sure that the tones match. i know asifa and nabeel played with this combo during a 2013 bridal week. also, have a look at this pic below:

instead of having the lehnga in coral, you can keep it grey and have coral as the finishing colour so on the piping, inside border of the dupatta etc. I think that will allow all the colours to flow together
Re: Opinion on color combo?
^ That’s pretty. Coral and gray look nice together and if she wants a third color…then I believe adding mint-green accents/embroidery/bead-work in the the gray would look very pretty as well. It would add another sort-of-unique dimension to the overall dress.
Re: Opinion on color combo?
You gotta work with a very pale silvery gray because otherwise, it's going to look dull. I love love pale gray but have yet to see a desi outfit in that colour that hasn't seemed boring.
i agree with the other posters about keeping more of a champagne or gold tone for the coral and making that your strong color. The suggestion of a coral lehenga, peach shirt and mint dupatta is gorgeous!
lilac I find works really well with fuchsia. There was a very famous Bunto jora in ivory, shades of purple and a hint of bold pink which was amaaaazing. Let me see if I can find it...

Here we go:

Lilac and mint together looks too “baby girl’s nursery decor” to me
bridals need to be more sophisticated IMHO.
my cousin wore a peach silk gharara for her wedding but she paired it with a brighter apple green/chartreuse for her piping and it looked gorgeous! The green and peach were the same tones and it just looked really pretty and fresh.
Re: Opinion on color combo?
^mint green and soft purples are a lovely combo.
SGC.....in the pic that Marigold up....I think that if there were accents of mint-green in the gray kurta...like in the beading and embroidery.....it would look very pretty when the kurta catches the light and the mint is seen within the gray.
The nice thing about a neutral color kurta is you have the flexibility to use different colors in the "kaam" that are highlighted/accented without being overwhelming.
Re: Opinion on color combo?
Agree with the colourful kaam on a neutral shirt- it's what I did for my wedding-but I think tonally putting the mint kaam directly on that grey shirt would make the work "disappear" in your photographs, although I'm sure it would be all subtle gorgeousness and sparkly bits in person esp. if you used swarovskis.
Alternately, you could do a mint velvet or silk patti on the edges and have tone on tone kaam on that to make it stand out more.
i do prefer the look of the outfit marigold posted ie grey top and bottom, coral dupatta and the mint kaam on the edges as you suggested vs. All the pieces being different colours as the OP asked about.
Re: Opinion on color combo?
^It doesn't have to be all mint-green kaam...but like hints here and there of mint-green. Embroidery could be white...peach...iridescent.....i meant pops of mint green, not for it to be like a solid or heavy mint green kaam.
Re: Opinion on color combo?
Thanks so much for the feedback guys! I am wearing white and blue on wedding day so I dont want those two colors. I like the idea of mint green, coral, and champagne. Ill definitely consider mixing the kaam colors instead of three totally different colors for each part of the jora. Thanks fro all the pics too:) those r 2 gorgeous outfits!
Re: Opinion on color combo?
Hello,
Good to know that you have made your mind to wear white and blue :) nice color combination.. I love making combinations with blue and this is why i wore Red and Blue on my wedding day.. Trust me I rocked on my big day :) though both the colors were quite vibrant lolz :)
Never mix the three pieces in three different colors. Its really a bad idea. My sister's friend did the same and she was not looking less than a cartoon :) heheh she used dark purple, dark red and dark green ... and then she wore red lipstick with it ... such a disaster i can easily recall.. :)
