Operation Wana: part 2 / Neik Mohammed killed (MERGED)

To be honest I wasn’t surprised that the government renewed it’s operations in the area, what does disturb is their tactics this time around. The tactics include “economic sanctions” , which were tactics used by conquering armies:

Strangling Wana

IT is extremely unfortunate that the government should have chosen to impose an economic blockade of Wana, South Waziristan, taking cover of the Frontier Crimes Regulations, a barbaric relic of the British era, to put pressure on the local population to surrender the foreigners who have taken up residence there, and their protectors. The argument that the ordinary law of the land is not enforceable in the Tribal Areas and the FCR is the only legal instrument valid for taking action against criminals there does not absolve the authorities from the sin of inflicting unforgivable harshness it would entail for the common man. That 57 years should have elapsed since the creation of Pakistan without a serious effort having been made by the authorities to rescind these antiquated, uncivilised laws and replace them with the country’s legal system cannot be entirely blamed on the tribal people. Their resistance could have been overcome with incentives of physical uplift of the areas and the benefits of development.
Collective punishment seriously offends commonsense application of justice, is in violation of internationally accepted standards of human rights and certain conventions to which Pakistan is a signatory. Forcible shutdown of shops, 6000 according to an estimate, petrol pumps and restaurants; banning the entry and exit of fruits, vegetable, foodgrain and other essential supplies; making large-scale arrests; impounding vehicles; closing all roads connecting Wana with border areas of Afghanistan, Tank, Razmak, etc – the scenario presents a picture of inhuman strangulation of the total population. Another press report, though not related to the South Waziristan operation, brings to light that the assistant political agent of Miranshah, North Waziristan, sent four women and 20 children, ages four to 15, to prison about a month ago as a means of collective punishment under the same draconian regulations. These innocent people would stay imprisoned for three years unless their family head, alleged to be involved in kidnapping for ransom, is produced before the political agent.

The Pakistani Military has always been looking for excuses to invade Waristan and now 'Foreign Fighters' have given them that great excuse.

The British in their last 50 years of their empire never took their army in that region neither Pakistan Pakistan had ever taken it's military over there for the 55 years of it's Independence.

The Military was obsessed with the invasion for strategic reasons.

Pakistan may launch air strikes against militants in tribal area

“Pakistan Air Force personnel have arrived in (the region’s main town) Wana for the survey of suspected hideouts” of the fugitive fighters, Gandapur added, indicating that the impending operation would involve air strikes.

The latest warning came in the wake of an economic blockade of tribesmen over the weekend. Troops erected road blocks and shut down thousands of shops and gas stations in the markets of Wana.

And the situation gets worse..

** ‘Five die due to economic curbs in Wana’ **

Statesman Report

PESHAWAR: The longstanding economic and travel curbs in South Waziristan Agency has resulted in severe hardships for the people of the area and on the very first day of the closure of private hospitals in the agency at least five people were killed due to non-availability of proper medical cure.

This was stated by Fakhre Azam Advocate, a social worker of the agency, while addressing a press conference here on Thursday. He said that the adverse effects of the curbs were witnessed on the first day of their imposition.

“At a place where poverty and unemployment is already touching its peak, the prices of daily-use items have been raised by 10 times and medicines are hardly available. The government if fails to take notice of it, the people of the area would be compelled to take arms for quenching their hunger,” he remarked.

He said that the law and order situation in the agency has deteriorated to an extent the people had started looting banks in broad daylight and the government had to bear a loss of millions of rupees

It has to be done, so lets just see what happens and hope for the best.

Naik Muhammed

Mods : I don’t consider FATA(federally administered tribal area)as a part of Pakistan , That’s why I am posting the thread in WA.

Today Mr Naik mohammed the tribal chief, harbouring the terrorists in south waziristan (FATA) said explicitly to a news channel (geo)>* That he is unleashing his wrath on the Pakistani army and the taste of which the corp. commander of Karachi has received this morning.
He promised more attacks in Islamabad, Peshawar, and said that he will teach Pakistan army a lesson they will not forget.*

My question is what the hell is our army doing, if they cannot weed out these terrorists they should invite the US forces to do the job for them, seems totally justified.

After observing events where the army cant handle a bunch of irregulars I thank God, That we did not go to war with India, otherwise we would have received a whopping that our future generations would have remembered.

Hunting them out could cause accidental civilian casualties and might inflame more persons against the Pakistani Government, conducting small operations while helpful allows them to organize more attacks.

WANA haste operation … Reloaded

At least 15 Pakistani security personnel have reportedly been killed in fierce fighting with alleged al-Qaida-linked fighters in a remote tribal region bordering Afghanistan.

Pakistan Hits Suspected Al Qaeda Hide-Outs

By Zulfiqar Ali, Special to The Times

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — The Pakistani army and air force attacked suspected hide-outs of foreign militants and their local supporters in the South Waziristan tribal region as fighting continued for a fourth day Saturday.

Fighter jets and helicopter gunships targeted positions of the suspected Al Qaeda fighters and their sympathizers in the remote Shakai area, while thousands of regular troops, paramilitary forces and the elite Special Services Group fired artillery shells, witnesses said.

Militants fired missiles at a paramilitary post near Wana in South Waziristan. In Dera Ismail Khan district in the neighboring North-West Frontier Province, a powerful bomb went off outside the home of a senior security official, killing a passerby and wounding three people, including two security guards, officials said.

In addition, an outpost of the Frontier Corps in the North Waziristan region came under attack Friday night.

Pakistan has been using jets and helicopters for the first time in its offensive against suspected Al Qaeda militants in the region.

Officials said that two F-7 planes dropped their bombs on the fortress-like mud houses of the tribal militants in the Shakai area throughout the day and used Cobra helicopters for a second consecutive day. Security forces have cordoned off the area and ordered hundreds of Afghan refugee families to vacate five camps there.

Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Shaukat Sultan said that security forces had destroyed the suspected hide-outs, including training facilities, and taken control of Shakai, where foreign militants were holed up.

Reports said that security forces also clashed with militants in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan near the Afghan border. Tribesmen in the area said foreign militants and their local protectors were putting up tough resistance to the security forces.

Re: Naik Muhammed

Naik Mohammed said that he would unleash his wrath on Pakistan, but instead it is Pakistan that has unleashed its wrath on Naik Mohammed. For his insolent and despicable treason and rebellion, it has taught him a lesson that HE will not forget.

This traitor was killed yesterday!!!

Let this be a lesson to all who would dare instigate rebellion against Pakistan!

PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!!!

May Allah ( Subhan Wa Ta’ala ) award a place in heaven to all of them, and Give all of us courage to fight against the criminal rulers.

I pray to Allah (Subhan Wa Ta’ala ) to give a heavy punishment to the current criminal rulesrs and their followers in this life and life after death. Aameen suma Aameem

Im curious, alot of anti-coalition posters say the war against terror is wrong, and there is no such thing as Al-Qaeda, but they are suppoting this particular operation, aimed at the so called 'Al-Qaeda' operatives? Isnt this the same war the Pakistani army had indulged in?

As for this Nek guy, he got what he deserved, he shouldnt have opened his mouth in the first place.

yeah whatever dude.... our rules might not be angels and Mushi is definitely not the answer but...

they should make an example out of all traitors like Naik sahib and his colleagues. good job Pak army. now he can go "unleash his wrath" in hell which is where he belongs.

Come on just leave the Wazirstani people alone. They have never done any harm to Pakistan so why attack them like this. The whole operation is based on lies, it's obvious.

They're a peace loving people so why hit them like this so hard? I think it's wrong to invade a defenceless people and more wrong if they've launched this operation because, others from outside Pakistan have requested it.

Re: Re: Naik Muhammad died in Wana rocket assault

Allah (Subhan Wa Ta’ala) knows that.

It shows your state of mind … :k:

and someone said

yah Bazi Khoon ki Bazi hai, Yeh Bazi Tum hi Haro Gay.
Har Ghar say Mujahid niklay ga, tum kitnay mujahid maro gay

Fi Amaan Allah

:rotfl:

Well, said dear :k:

INA LILLAHAY WA INNA ELAIHAY RAJEON

Shall All Mighty God rest Nek Mohammads Soul and the other Shaheedans. Ameen.

This is the BIGGEST mistake the Army has made, for the outcome they now have to wait for the unexpected of the Tribesmen. These Proud people had not done any bad to Pakistan, and this is what they get for being good and sacrifying themselves for Pakistan.

Now what i hope for is his supporters, he had over 5000 Tribesmen behind him, now only GOD knows what they would do to the Army. Insh'allah the whole Tribal society will rise up and unite once again, and teach the enemies of our land a historical yet unforgettable lesson.

God Bless His Soul. Ameen.
