Operation silence on Gupshup

After Lal masjid incident, do you think we need similar approach on GS to get rid of the fanatic mullahs who preach nothing but hate?

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

After watching this drama unfold on tv and watching journalist, politicians and mullahs engage in a dialogue, I think we need more fora for people to challenge and question each others' views.

Let people take any political/ideological position they want. Let others challenge, question and support them in a civil manner. Let there be a dialogue. Let there be a discussion.

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

totally one hundred percent agree, but you've been to that thread, as soon as you ask them a question they start calling you and your family names. is that dialogue or discussion?

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

Nope. They know they are losing and they are desperate hence the name calling, insults to family and ethnic cards. Let everyone see their bad behavior.

What's interesting is that wherever public discourse is the norm, people have developed thicker skins, are more capable of handling criticism, negativity and plain dirt. Pakistan and Pakistanis need that skill too. For this reason, I think what Imran Khan is doing is very important. Mind you, he is as bit a politician as he claims to despise and his ideas are hare-brained but he wants to keep the political fight clean. He doesn't want to discuss his past mistakes or private life which has its both positive and negatives. But, he is making his mark despite the dirt and muck slung his way. Over time he will refine his message and become more capable at communicating or formulating policy. But he is engaging in dialogue in dirty, filthy Pakistani politics which is much needed and very admirable.

You are not alone in this danial, there are lot of people who agree with you and support your point-of-view. :)

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

That is already happening on GS....kon si duniya main rehtay ho bhai?

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

pointless thread.
this is an open discussion forum everyone has right to express their views in civilized manner although those mullahs or anti-mullahs who indulge in name calling should be dealt properly.

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

i have nothing against civilized discussions. but name calling and personal attacks is what i'm against.

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

Although I never read all threads complete, I noticed a deafening silence when the anti-Mullah brigade were being anything but civil....

Spare us your indignation, please. There were many, regardless of ideological bent, who were quite savage in their wordings and outlook...

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

But only religious people(mullahs) are name calling and doing personal attacks on GS?

Some biassed needs to sort his self out.

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

^ first of all there is no anti mullah brigade, even though there should be one. secondly this thread is not against mullah's who are mostly peace loving and well educated, its against all those mullah's who spread hate in name of religion. majority of the posters on this site are muslims and they respect everyones opinion but because of some fanatics who bring religion (their version of islam) into every thread and every debate should be dealt with.

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

but you said in your first post *"get rid of the fanatic mullahs who preach nothing but hate"

*means you want to silence ppl with whom you do not agree.

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

how does that mean that he wants to silence ppl whom he disagree with??

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

absouletly not, i didn't say it nor i meant it.

this is an open forum for discussion. but you also have to keep in mind that name calling or bringing someones family into discussion or preaching one version of islam that forces its view on others is wrong. what does it show to the world? that islam was spread by the sword, thats exactly what most of these guys are saying and supporting here.

Islam is a beautiful religion but forcing it down someones throat is wrong.

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

Either you haven't read the threads, or have and choose to ignore savagry from people who are otherwise in agreement with you.

secondly this thread is not against mullah's who are mostly peace loving and well educated, its against all those mullah's who spread hate in name of religion

[/quote]

Your flippant qualification of who should be "dealt with" flies in the face of equally disturbing and hateful rhetoric by people who are anti-mullah.

Not feelin the love from people who want to slaughter others based on, primarily, ideological differences

Fine, only if you agree that those who choose to leave religion out of it to the extent of thunbing their nose at religious norms in any thread should be "dealt with"...you want to walk down that path, or just stick with the status quo no one has really been bothered by?

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

let’s see how did you ask the question and who called you names or did you?

and when cornered by the civil and logical reply, this is the best you can come up with

Re: Operation silence on Gupshup

Someone posted this joke:
" oh, how haram, there will be women in heavens and then there will be men, how so, oh how so haram?"

And your comments

:rotfl: reminds me of a guppan. :cb: if you read the last sentence you will get her ID.

What do you call it? personal attack? Back Biting? Childish behaviour? Making fun of ones handle name?
