Operation in the Tribal Areas

WANA: An unidentified tribesman comforts children hurt by shells during a battle between the troops and suspected al-Qaeda at a hospital here on Friday.

:frowning:

I expect a 50 page thread denouncing pakistani brutality against innocent muslims.

Oh wait, that's only if the america is fighting.

You forgot Palestine there.

Weren't they told to leave the area?

^ good question.

not everyone has the * means* to leave .. i mean pak army asked them to leave but not everyone has a car etc ... were they suppose to leave on foot? and how much time did the pak army give them to leave the area .....?? it was probably a short and quick notification ... sigh

Sensory Deprivation..seems very guantonomo bay?

GEneral hamid gul openly has made this remark.....that both parties men died in this war are shuhda.....may be he is bit humble about pak troops..... as most of religoius people here are opposing this operation...which has no other intention but to please america.....

I have heared ...that pak army is delibrately trying to post religious officers on the front lines aginst alqaedah...and alqaedah had made sevrals pleas to pak forces to stop doing this......now they have no chance but to fight pakis.....after pak forces has reportedly handed some of alqedah men's family memebers including women and children to america.....

This is a loose-loose situation for religous people here.....even the major killed in the alqaedah attack belonged to tabilgh jammat and had made several request that he do not want to fight with alqaedah ...and unforutantely was the very first victim........

I think....this is just tip of ice berg..the situation will worsen in coming week or two.......

and american bombardment on wana is already on the cards.......

ALLAH khair karay...

“Pakistani soldiers are like beasts,” said tribesman Mukhtar Wazir, as he looked on three wounded children receiving treatment. “See, these children are like flowers. Are they terrorists?”

“Musharraf is evil, (U.S. President George W.) Bush is Satan,” said Wazir.

quite true...I saw in a clip how a Pakistani general grabbed a journalist by his hair to prevent him from photographing the "captured militants".

"On Saturday, local residents said a helicopter gunship killed 12 civilians, including 4 women and 6 children, as they tried to drive out of the area. Military officials said the civilians were mistaken for militants." From NY Times, Sunday March 21st.

For those alquada guys killed and if the pak army has their bodies I wonder if the will give them proper ghusl if they were gonna bury them.

Is there any army rule regarding that?

Kabhi kabhi lagta hai muj ko kay aj musalmanouN pay nuksan musalmaN he kar rahain hain....

Now I heard there's a truce and the Pak army is discussing with the tribe elders.

truly sad

Spare a thought for them as well as the other soldiers who were all someone's son, someone's father, someone's husband, someone's brother. All they did was follow orders.

Inalillah alaihe wa inna alaihe rajioon.

you know i normally go out of my way to support pakistan

not musharraf the traittor

but pakistan as people

but this incident has torn me

how can i continue to defend the people on whose backyard two armies are poised at each other

i mean even when musharraf ordered the closure of borders

the low level personnel in the army would allow incursions of mujahideen into enemy terrority

how can it be that the same army is now not only blocking the mujahideen who were the only true freinds that Pakistan EVER had (Taliban was the only government that was not the enemy of pakistan while being on its border).

Now this army not only blocks the incursion to fight the enemy of the mujahideeen, the enemy of Allah and enemy of Pakistan, but these troops murder its own people and kill its only friend it had.

China and Iran have not been hostile to Pakistan. China has been extremely friendly in fact (today the gave Pakistan a $2,000,000 interest-free loan for military purchases), and Iran has never made military moves against Pakistan and even co-ordinated with Pakistan against Baloch separatist guerillas in the 1980s.

The Taliban, whilst generally friendly to Pakistan, did give shelter to Sunni extremists wanted inb Pakistan on suspicion of involvement in attacks on Shias.

Inna lillahaihe wa Inna Alaihe Rajoun

It is a matter of great sadness that on Pakistan Day Quaid-e-Azam's promise of mutual respect for the tribal areas lay in ruins and Pakistanis are killing Pakistanis.

It is a matter of great sadness, on gupshup it's even more sad when you read some of aggressive comments of people posting on gupshup openly advocating the killing of their own once again..as is said elsewhere I finally understand why we lost East Pakistan...

Yeah yeah yeah and on other hands Pakistan gives shelter to those that are wanted in India i.e Dawood Ibrahim for killing civilians. You think Taliban would do anything that was against Pakistan's wishes? For all we know Pakistani army might be playing mouse and cat. Zawahri Zawahri, no wait its Uzbek Uzbek, no wait, there were tunnels tunnels. Niggro plzz.

Pakistani Army and the Taliban are blood brothers.

China is aware of american led conspiracy against its state through pakistan and hence china in recent years have sought ties with India , and gone as far as holding joint miltary exercises with india despite objections from pakistan...

China cares for itself only.....

but i agree with your post (in general).

Malik Mehar Dil Khan, an elder of Mehsud tribe, gets ready to lead his people to track down tribesmen wanted for sheltering terrorists and find out where several kidnapped troops and government officials were being held. Notice, he is wearing the badge of the Mehsud Rifles.
