Operation Hindunisation

Thus the Sangh Parivar, the BJP’s oxygen, is unmasked. One branch of this Parivar, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has linked Prof. Amartya Sen’s Nobel Prize to a Christian conspiracy. First its President Ashok Singhal, then its Vice-President Giriraj Kishore have gone on record saying foreign money will now flow in our country for mass literacy and primary health care programmes, which Prof. Sen consideres key to development. According to them this money will ultimately help spread Christianity in our country !

No, not being out of their mind, they said so. In fact, it betrays their actual frame of mind. From its recently concluded nine-day long organisational meet, the VHP has indentified as many as fifty thousand villages in two hundred districts for its “Operation Hindunisation”. To make this operation success the VHP volunteers will fan out in the villages so indentified to “Hindunise” the minorities, especially Christians and Muslims. They would not mind to “use force” if necessary, their resolution said.

Now one does not require to go far beyond to find out raison d’etre of Gujrat violence against the Christian community. Nor does one need to know why two VHP leaders, by a public statement had linked both Mother Teresa and Amartya Sen’s Nobel Prize to a Christian conspiracy. Coming as it does on the close heels of Gujrat violence, nobody should take it as an out of mind product of VHP leaders. It is in fact their mind-set. Didn’t their “Guru” Golwarkar had not stated, “Hindustan (meaning India) is only for Hindus …. Those who do not belong to Hindu nationality, religion, culture and language, they must live on the mercy of Hindus, otherwise they must leave the country.” The VHP is only carrying his ideals which BJP leaders had cherished all these days.

But this costs heavily the BJP-led government at the Centre. Tough talks are going on inside the party, Which line it would pursue - hard or soft “Hindutva”?

The days ahead will indicate.

So Hindu revivalists (religious fanatics) are trying to DESTROY the freedom of worshipping other Religions. They have instigated MUCH violence in recent years (Ayodhiya massacres, New Delhi massacres). Is this a Social & Religious war against Islam, Christianity and Bhuddism? Their own policies state that Bharat is only for HINDUS and no one else !!

why is the world silent to these hindu taliban

kabir mian,

how many hindus take these buffoons seriously? these jokers maybe wannabe hindu-taliban, but are probably better described as a nuisance. anyway, if what you say is right, someone should take it to court. as you know, as an indian citizen, it's your right, as well as duty to make sure that secularism prevails. how about starting with a letter to the editor of some newspapers?

well queer i have been writing to letters and there are many hindus and infact many of the hindu journalist and editors who are against this fanatic hinduism but the fact of the matter is the no matter how many letters you write and how many statements you make sitting in our civilised offices and houses the fact remains that these maniac hindus have got the street power to bring the cities to a stand still and they have their sway over the rural areas so no matter what we educated and secular indians think .its the street power that matters

Once a young Shiv Sena leader was talking against Macdonald culture in India. But when asked why he was in a pant and not Dhoti, a dress of Indian culture, he had no answer.
‘A Hindu Taleban’ very nice name is given to this culture.
I think all Muslims and Hindu Talebans, Mullahs and VHPs should be given a separate island for living and flourishing, so that normal people can live in harmony and peace.

Anand, Banishing all Hindu extremists to one Island is easier said than done. In reality how can people like you stop the Hindutva campaign from spreading ? I think it is the biggest danger facing Secular India. With the BJP central to the Hindutva efforts, it will unfortunately continue to flourish.

kabir, india is plagued by many social problems which will take time to get rid of. more than time, they'll take a lot of responsibility, patience and effort from it's citizens - hindu, muslim, all. we should make every effort to spread awareness among the masses. no one likes a conflict - once people realize what the real issues are, and what are not, there will be peace and development.

dil hai pakistani, no offence, i have seen so many threads from you bringing up issues in India, but i am yet to see a single thread from you discussing pakistan's problems. dont you think you should change your nick to dil hai hindustani? think about it.

Mr Pakistani dil,

I damn care to stop or do anything to halt hindu fandamentalism. You do not know the spirit of India. Even if RSS come to power with full fledge majority, it will not be able to corrupt our constitution.

We are not like you, where every general brings in his own constitution and every Mullah boasts of guiding you to heaven or hell.
First mend your mess.

rgds

anand, by dragging pak in, you are only playing into the loser's game.

queer

Correct, India has a HUGE problam with its society, it has Caste based racism, it has feudalism, slavery, corruption and religious violence to name a few. Now tell everyone how you going to get the masses to change their ways ?? Also how do you achieve these aims with a Hindu revivalist Government in power.

Make me the Corruption Minister first !!

The independent thinking is news to me.

That means the people who demolished Babri Masjid were doing it on their own and the leadership was there just to watch them do it. And, the authorities chose to watch.

Similarly, the mass slaughter of Muslims in Bombay few years back. And the continuous slaughter of Muslims in Kashmir. All "if they want to do it they will do".

As for the Bukharis voice. Imam Bukhari is saying what Islam teaches, not what he wants to say. If the contrary, he is responsible for his actions.

what kind of constitution allows massacres of Low caste hindus, Muslims in Delhi, Sikhs in mumbhai, Muslims in Ayyodhiya, Muslims in kashmir & violence against Christian minorities. All these happened despite your so called Indian constitution !!! <<

Are the shia-sunni killings in Pak in standing with it's islamic constitution? What about lynching of Ahmadis? And the massacre of christians?

The constitution is one thing, getting people to follow it is another. India is no worse than your own motherland. No use pretending. Your intentions are pretty clear, dude. If you wish to be an a-hole even during ramzaan, who are we to stop you? Carry on.

Dunggg, I think your a victim of your own words earlier you said:
""anand, by dragging pak in, you are only playing into the loser's game.""

Dung wherever these incidents occur wether in pakistan or India, they should be CONDEMNED ! And im sure you condemn them as well. Now getting back to the TOPIC. I noticed you said about educating the masses. Well my point was HOW do you go about doing that ?? Its easier said than done !!

Point 1: Quit generalizing

Point 2: Stop mudslinging

This is a place where people come to learn, educate and promote understanding, if you can't do that then this isn't the place for you.

WHAT OR WHO IS AN INDIAN?
Jawaid Quddus

Is there a standard definition that will precisely define what it means to be an Indian? And if there is,then who has the authority to define it, and where does this authority come from? I grew up believing that I was an Indian to the core! To me India meant having the freedom to practice my religion the way I wanted to, to eat drink and dress according to what I considered was my cultural heritage handed down to me by my forefathers. A heritage that was molded and fashioned in its present form by thousand of years of ideas and cultures that flowed into India.

I grew up very proud of what our forefathers had envisioned for India. I believed in what Bapuji believed in. I believed him when he proclaimed "I do not expect India of my dreams to develop one religion, i.e., to be wholly Hindu or wholly Christian or wholly Mussalman, but I want it to be wholly tolerant, with its religions working side by side with one another.'' Inspired by him and by leaders like Nehru and Azad , I always held my head high, was and am proud to be an Indian, proud to belong to a country where diversity is celebrated, people free to think their own thoughts, practice their own concept of religion, live in mutual harmony, not only respecting other cultures and religions but also becoming a part of a unique culture which is an amalgamation of all the influences that we call ‘Indian’ today.

There was no confusion in my mind as to who I was. I celebrated Eid and Ramzan with fervor and all my non-Muslim friends were an integral part of this celebration. Likewise, Holi and Dewali and Christmas would find me among my Hindu and Christian friends. For someone looking in from outside, it would be a challenge to discern who among the crowd was a Muslim, a Hindu or a Christian. During National festivals, with my head held high I would participate in the unfurling of our National flag, singing of the National Anthem and take part in all the other activities pertaining to the celebration. When war with China broke out, I along with my other friends, walked door to door collecting funds for the national defense Fund(NDF). When ‘Chacha’ Nehru died, I cried! It was the first personal loss that I had experienced.! Only recently had I met him! His charm, his charisma and his ideals still vibrates within me! When his ashes came into town, I was there for the dispersal ceremony. I grabbed at the national flag that was wrapped around the urn carrying his ashes. This flag has been one of my family’s most cherished possession ever since!

Growing up is hard to do. There are so many choices to make about schools and careers and the future. One choice that I didn’t have to make was the fact that I was an Indian, an Indian who was Muslim by faith and choice! I had no other identity, I considered no other identity. It was what I was, India was me and I was India. There was no need for me to ‘Indianize’. I was the son of the soil, as loyal as dedicated to the motherland as any other son of the soil! No one had or has the the right to decide what my relationship to my motherland was and should be. And no one ever will! I will never allow it!

Who has given the RSS chief, or anyone else, the authority to decide that I am not an Indian and that I need to ‘Indianize’ myself! A person who has declared the Indian constitution worthless, who encourages and predicts ‘Dharm Yudh’ with the so called anti-Hindus, and heads an organization that has been implicated (by no less than the great patriot Patel) for the asassination of The Mahatma, an organisation that was involved in sabotaging the efforts of our forefathers in their fight for freedom against the British, should know better than to utter such nonsense! What you need Mr. Sudarshan is to ‘Indianize’ yourself, honor the Indian constitution, salute the Indian flag and spend the rest of your life in Kashi begging forgiveness from God Almighty for having dishonored our Motherland and our forefathers and our heroes. Among them, Abdul Hamid and Lt. Hanifuddin ! No, they did not deem it necessary to ‘Indianize’ themselves, because they were more Indian than what you or I ever will be! And there are many like them, true patriots, who one day will be the true inheritors of the legacy our forefathers have left for us.

India will survive Mr. Sudarshan. Not only survive, but it will be a beacon for the entire World! Our people will show you and all others like you that this Land of Ashoka and Gandhi, of Nehru and Azad, of Peer Ali Khan and Bhagat Singh will not be subjected to the bigotry, the falsehood, the hate and archaic views of the few.
