Opening Pair for Pakistani Cricket Team??

Taufeeq Umar and Muhammed Hafeez
or
Saeed Anwar and Shahid Afridi

If we can take the politics and favoritism out from PCB we maybe able to produce some decent batsman.........
I think really truly good players don't get a chance because someone's uncle knows someone in PCB. That is bullcrap, we must let true talent come out, no wonder we lose so many good players because of this BS.
Hassan Raza is one of them and many others.

Kamran Akmal

Sam bhai I agree with you but the reason I picked Imran Nazir cuz the guy for sure has talent if he could stick his head between his ears. So asuming he can stick his head between his ears he can be a good opener, just what PAK is looking for. :k: I know most of the time he let us down :frowning:

Kamran Akmal, this guy deserves a chance. He is xtreamly talented.
But I guess, as long as Rashid Latif is in the team, no chances of him coming back.

I think it is going to be Bilal Asad / Yasir Hameed & Imran Nazir

He just scored 2 freakin centuries and you’re rating him as a good batsman. :rotfl:

Namibia??!! :rotfl: Even Shoaib Akhtar can do that.

GOOD FOR SHOAIB AKTHAR !!!
YOU ARE MISSING THE WHOLE POINT OF THE POST

yeah agree. He isn’t a good batsmen and never will be. He scored 63 against Namibia and struggled to do so and was dropped on 36. He has gotten numerous chances before and has failed and I think his cricketing days are pretty much over.

YOU CAN SAY THE SAME THING ABOUT TAUFEEQ UMER, HE SCORE THE CENTURY BUT HE REALLY HASN"T PALYED GOOD IN LAST @ EVENTS.
YOYO HASN"T PLAYDED WELL IN SRI LANKA DOES THAT MEAN HE CAN"T PLAY? EVEN JAYASURIAY GET OUT ON DUCK BUT DOES THAT MEAN HE CAN’T PLAY? SURE EVERYONE KNOWS THAT TENDULKER & JAYASURIAY CAN PLAY.
SOMETHING WE HAVE TO HAVE TO MAKE DECISION BASED ON STATS NOT EMOTIONS, LIKE I SAID IN THE MY PREVIOUS POST, SALEEM ELAHI PALYED DECENT CRICKET, BUT IT IS NOT MY CALL. THE PROBLEM IS NOT PLAYER BUT THE PROCESS THAT DEVELOPS PALYERS (BATSMAN & BOWLERS). I THINK DOMESTIC CRICKET SHOULD BE CONVERTED LIKE NBA IN USA OR COUNTY CRICKET IN ENGLAND BUT IT SEEMS LIKE PCB’s HAVE THEIR HEAD THEIR BUTT, THEY CAN"T SEEMS TO MAKEUP THEIR MIND WHAT THEY wANTS TO DO. TRAINING YOUNSTERS IS ON GOING PROCESS AND I DOESN"T MEAN THAT YOU SIDELINE YOUR BEST PALYERS. WE STILL HAVE 4 YEARS TO PREPARE A TEAM FOR WORLD CUP.

Who's rating Taufeeq as a good batsman? He is also a rubbish player who has a flaw in his technique. Good to see him dropped.

As for Youhana, Jayasuriya, and Tendulkar, class is permanent but form is temporary.

And once again, Elahi is no way near a good batsmen as he struggles to play.

Tufeeq certainly has to work on his technique but if he improves his technigue he might be a good batsman, I can see him on #6 or #7th spot after Rashid Latif retair. Even though Hafeez is multi directional player he just too slow for ODI but will not ditch him, he is superb fielder and handy bowler.

Players like Wajahatullah Wasti, Hassan Raza, Bazid Khan, Fazl-e-Akber, Kabir Khan, Mohammad Ramzan, Yasser Arafat were either not good enough or PCB doesn't want to give them any more chances....
I still thing that there are so many talented players waiting for their turn, Imran Farhat, Humayun Farhat , Kamran Akmal, Usman Tariq and many others.....

I am sure had he been given more chances, he would have scored more centuries.
He has maintained an avg of 37 which is pretty good for one dayers.

And that too against small teams :rotfl:

teaser bhai, I for some reason absolutely hate Imran Nazir. He does to me what Afridi and Akhtar combined do to Ehsan bhai. He's probably the stupidest cricket player along with Akhtar, IMO.

I'd stick with Taufeeq Umar over Imran Nazir. I agree that the kid has loads of talent but I absolutely hate it when he throws his wicket away after scoring a quickfire 20-30. Heck, I'll even take Affers over Nazir. At least Affers can bowl.

Besides, I really like the showing of Hafeez. He seems the dour kind plus he's a fantastic fielder and a handy bowler. All he needs is confidence. Latif should go upto him and tell the kid that his place is secure in the side so that he goes out and plays his natual game.

I think it's really strange that you would hate Imran for not capitalizing on a good start when that it also what Taufeeq has become notorious for.

I'd like to see Imran Nazir open with Mohammed Hafeez or Yasir Hameed.

I think Taufeeq has been given a chance since last Sept. and done nothing with it except for 2 half centuries. I'm happy to see him go.

As to those championing Saleem Elahi as a good cricketer, I'm wondering if we've been watching the same guy. He always got out on soft dismissals! I would NOT compare him to Yoyo considering he has not acheived half as much as Youhana. He's going through a bad patch right now, Elahi's whole career was a bad patch!

Happy to see Imran back on the team I hope he makes the most of this opportunity and proves to everyone that he deserves a place on the team.

He only performs well once in a blue moon :rotfl: His average is good against SL and that too when Murli isn’t playing. If you think scoring a 100 shows that the player is good then Saqlain Mushtaq can easily be a good batsman.

Maintaining a good avg doesn’t mean playing good once in blue moon, just admit the fact that he is a good player and PCB has taken away his right to be in the squad regardless of how well he has performed in the past couple months.
Pakistan has played Sri Lanka only once without Murali, so no excuses there.

was tendulkar born with those 30 centuries?
