Opening a Bank Account in Pakistan

Is there a free bank account in any of the bank in Pakistan? Free means free of monthly fee and other deductions like zakat etc.

Re: Opening a Bank Account in Pakistan

I can not say free of fees, usually savings accounts are free if you satisfy the minimum amount of deposit needed. also if you declare you are of Shia mazhab they do not take out zakat every year from your savings.

Foreign banks may be option; Do the foreign bank charge the zakat as well?

Also which banks provide professional services?

Bank Al Habib has no minimum deposit on savings and checking accounts. No monthly or yearly fee. Zakat can be exempted after submitting a zakat declaration stamp paper.

well, if someone deposits 1000 thats far too low from the nisab, they shouldnt deduct zakat from smaller than nisab amount....

Re: Opening a Bank Account in Pakistan

just open a bank. let other deposit their money. use it as you like...and pray no one asks for it back all at the same time :)

Re: Opening a Bank Account in Pakistan

I believe you can opt out from zakat yourself. My grandmother was advised by her banker to opt out of it.
