There is no way we can setup shelters for millions of survivors. It is time to bring them down to warmer areas for the next six months. Open your homes, extra rooms, whatever you can and shelter someone from Kashmir. Let the government and NGOs clear the area, and build proper places and then let these Kashmiris return to their homes. Please people.

i have been thinking along the same lines.
trucks that are going there full of supplies and returning empty can instead return with people who can then be housed in warmer areas and with families.
i have very serious doubts about the ability to set up half a million tents in time.
its not just the tents but also water supply and sewerage otherwise the camps will become disease ridden very quickly

i am not understanding whether he is addressing members currently living near Kashmir, or whether he is suggesting importing victims to the US/UK/Canada and sheltering them.
i am assuming that the overwhelming majority of this forum is living abroad, and option 2 is quite impossible.

i think he is addressing ppl at large, ppl living abroad sometimes have properties in Pakistan that they can open up to deserving people, people living abroad have families and friends in Pakistan who they can talk to and spread the word. tem people read it here and talk to 100 people in Pakistan.
knowing antiobl he is probably sending the same msg to his friends and family and to media etc.
Simple logic at work. spreading the word, thru every channel, sharing of ideas, dispersing of views. as a result if even one family is helped, then it is all worth it.

It would be very helpful and humane if people living in warmer areas of Pakistan give temporary shelter to these unforunate victims during the coming winter months. It will be of enormous help as it will not only provide shelter but will also help these people to focus on rebuilding their lives.

Dear ehsan and Mr. Fraudia (with a good heart off course) thank you. Yes we are already working on it at our family level. We got one Kashmiri family (8 members) sheltered in our house. Our neighbors are also working on this.
Let’s all adopt one family (or more if you have space in your house). Guys it is urgent. Things are getting desperate and the last thing I want to see is people living in tents that can’t protect against severe cold.

Lets not worry about whether musharraf opens his own home to provide shelter to displaced families. Lets worry about whether you can or your friends and family can.
