Re: Open letter to the PTIans of GS
I have said it before to my friends and I’ll say it here, Pakistan is NOT SUITED for parliamentary system where parties are weak and demagogues are exceptionally strong.
Let imran, zardari, nawaz etc follow a musharaffian president role with direct elections. This way we can elect the people that work for us in the parliament instead of electing “ELECTABLEs” so imran, nawaz, zardari, phutto, tattoo etc etc can become PMs.
In England, the queen is another center of power though she is not that powerful anymore. Pakistan is a republic, so having an executive and legislative merger is very bad for Pakistan. Look at france: they dismissed the PM right now but since they have a powerful and elected president, there wasn’t a whole destruction of democracy like what happens if PM is gone in Pakistan.
Heck, don’t like the american system, then lets follow the french system with powerful president and a PM that looks after the country itself if it gives orgasmic tinglings up 'yer legs for having a PM and that holy document called the 1973 constitution!
