do you only like the trend when it’s sleeveless or when it only has long sleeve, or do you hate the look overall?

I remember when open front shirts in salwar kameez were totally in like 10 years ago, i remember the fashion started after the movie: har dil jo pyar karega, remember the song "piya piya" were preity and rani were wearing it?? After that movie, everyone started wearing those open front net kameez's, and lehnga's were made like that too...I guess this fashion is back again
I personally like it, however I think it looks the best when you're taller and thin (not have a stomach)...

I have some old lenghas from late 90s and it had long shirts with circular cut silk lenghas with lots of material inside to poof it out…it’s weird how fashion has come around. also karishma kapoor rocked this in hum saath saath hain notice 4:16 in the song:
kajol did it back then too with churidaar pants same with madhuri i don’t think they used lenghas with long open front shirts.

do sharara pants but i love the mermaid look honestly even though it's not the most IN fashion thing I am not crazy about super baggy clothing that has been a trend lately.
Also consider doing a splash of red i think it would look really good like if the inner blouse was red (the tube top thing) and if there was red in the lengha's border somehow or something.
Finally i'm glad things are becoming fitted again. years from now we will all look at wedding pictures and who knows if we will gain weight when we are older. It would be a shame to look back at old family weddings and stuff and not have a single pic that shows off the youthful and probably better figure we will have now than what we may become 10 yrs down the road. if you like the mermaid look I say go for it and do the pakistani IN thing for the rest of the days.

bumping this topic, also i have to say the first time i saw this trend was when a friend of mine went to india to attend a cousin’s wedding back in 2008
i know pakistani people favor their designers but a lot of the time the trends that catch on were really started by indian designers. long kameez, flared skirt, jacket and all. another time i posted a paneled anarkali frock everyone dissed and now look at what’s all the rage lol anyhow enjoy.

I want to get made something like these but don’t how what they actually are…to me they look like a frock with gher underneath n a slim looking jacket with long slits on sides…what exactly they are?
Will they suit someone short n little heavy?
