"oops I did it again" - Anil Dharkar

I’ve never quite understood how some people who’ve probably never even played cricket at a decent level go on and on about stuff they haven’t got a clue about. Now, I suppose the same could be said of me or most guppies who post on KK but there is one big difference: We’re not professional writers and don’t get paid for expressing our opinions. One would think that if you got paid to write or not, you would have some sort of an ethical obligation to youself to not make an absolute fool out of yourself.

Here’s this dude Anil Dharkar who writes from cricketnext, I’m sure some people must have heard of him. Two of his past articles:

Drop Yuvi and hurt his ego

Its now time to drop Kaif

After his first article, Yuvraj scored 65 runs in the 3rd ODI. After he wrote the second article, Kaif scored a matchwinning 71 in the 4th ODI.

Now, after this fine track record, one would think that he would be a tad bit embarassed and be a bit hesitant before blasting people left, right, centre. But what does he do? He goes ahead and betters his own record as difficult as that might be. he actually grows the guts to blast Imran for supposedly denying Indians credit for the victory in this article: Getting wise after the event, Mr. Khan?

This two bit “writer” is running around taking cheap shots at a great who took a divided, warring bunch of guys and transformed them into a world champion team. This great showed the world what you can accomplish if you have a big heart and the will and the desire to be the best in the world. This great polished and delivered such supermen to the world stage as Wasim Akram, Inzimam and Waqar Younis among others. Now, what exactly have you done Anil apart from sticking your own four limbs in your big mouth?

when I read his articles about Kaif and Yuvraj, and their performances afterwards, I just chuckled. But this dude really forgot to put his pants on today and really needs to think before he opens his trap lest he wishes to pick up the “The Brainless Wonder of the Year” award 'cause he’s well on his way to getting this honour as things stand now.

[end of rant]

phew I feel much better now.

Pls pls don't read cricketnext articles. they stink. anil dharkar has lost it - when i read his 'it's time to drop yuvraj' i sent him feedback saying 'it's time to drop you from this site'. he used to be a good writer but his marbles are missing now.

What an idiot! Can someone be so shameless?!!

Anil Dharkar is an idiot!
This is the same guy who didn't want India to tour Pakistan, and now he has nothing to say after brilliant reception given by the Pakistanis.

I like Anil Dharkar's style of writing. He is the editor of respected Indian news magazine - Outlook.

If you had read the above articles at the time it was written, you might have actually agreed with him. It is easy to become wise after the event.

As far as his not wanting the India-Pak tour to happen...let me say this...nobody (including the Pakistanis themselves) could be sure(at that time) that this tour would pass off peacefully. Even I did not want this tour to happen (and had posted a thread about it)...but now that things seem to be OK so far...I am sitting back and enjoying the series....

wow, thank you sir jee for letting indian team tour Badmassh state pakistan.....i knew that advani did not want the tour to happen, i knew anil dharkar was not in its favour either but who care about these people....what we all did not know that "EVEN JANAB HIS MAJESTY SOME1" did not want this tour to happen.....probably vajpayee had a discussion with you before he made the final announcment that the tour is ON.

^ PD...I take it u don't have an opinion on the topic under discussion.....thanks anyways for dedicating the post to me...

Some1, I just like to say one thing.

Don't you think you should give someone a try? That someone is Pakistan, and look how well it's come out. If India was stubborn and followed yours or Anil's views, then we would have never seen this excitement.

How do you trust someone?

Arrey Champ Saheb... I have nothing against this India-Pakistan dosti thing... I am/was just concerned about the safety/security of the Indian team.....that's all... In the last test series...one man from the audience accosted Srikkanth with a knife and that was before Kargil/911 etc.
All I am saying is that people who opposed the India-Pak tour didn't do so without a reason. I am glad that our concerns are now turning out to have been misplaced.
