How innocent!!!
So we should continue with the convicted person just to show the world, that we do not care of anything, we give a damn to the conviction... or SC and we have been able to complete 5 years... now that is what i call logic... and good one.... again, is there any example in the world where a convicted person continue to be the CEO of the country???? looking for one such example...
Re: Only parliament can unseat me: PM Gilani
well, this is what it looks like, mr.Khosa said it himself, PM will complete his 4 year term and I think he will and we all know vote of confidence is a joke!
self respect and moral ethics do not exist in their dictionary!

Who is Mr. Khosa ?
Re: Only parliament can unseat me: PM Gilani
^ what options are there? the ethics of most of the politicians we already know. He is not willing to resign, and has the support of his allies.
Now what are the options available with PMLN for his ouster? his ouster can only be through the parliament (vote of no confidence), result of agitation (long march etc in which some other parties might jump in like the military), mass resignations (which is unlikely) or the court declares him illegal on that post.

PML-N have multiple options, but sorry to say, PTI and PML-N are more worried about each other then to agree on a one point agenda to get rid of these bay-sharams for good...
And there is more to this, doesn't matter what IK says, PTI is not ready for elections ( yes despite having four years to organize) early elections say in September or October can bring discouraging results, that is why i am sure, IK will will all that angry-young-man bayanaat in the news channel but would continue to target PML-N and in away try his best to drag the elections as far as possible....
On the other hand, Gillani and PPP could have become Siyasi Shaheed, if only Gillani had resigned on Thursday, this could have been the booster PPP was looking forward to, now more this thing will drag more defamation for PPP and its representative, they are already on back foot... and would'nt be seen on the tv in near future...
This give PML-N to hit back strongly on both PTI and PPP, MQM and ANP, as MQM may loose a moral victory they made in 2009 when they decided to not to support NRO bill in the parliament, loose in the sense that they are all set to support a convict person for the Prime Minister-ship....
A protest staged by PML-N in the country, would attract masses towards them, people are sick of this govt, only the the labor of Textile and Sanitary industry is enough to topple the govt ( both industries are verge of destruction, thanks to the mismanagement and corruption of PPP govt) and there are people who are tired of 20 hours of power cuts and inflation like anything... the next few months can be hard... Maybe PML-N have found what they were looking for ... now i don't know if they can benefit from this....

Checked and accordingly edited my reply
Re: Only parliament can unseat me: PM Gilani
I am not sure anyone completed a full term of 5 years in Pakistan. :) Only Liaquat Ali Khan and Bhutto came close at 4 years each. Shaukat Aziz came in with 3 years left (remember Jamali), so he surely did not. The yateem-face completed four years this March, and frankly, if he is allowed to, he'll definitely go on for the five years mark. Or at least, that seems to be his plan.
Even more if he can by constitutionally extending the elections (provided the voters list are not completed in due time).
Re: Only parliament can unseat me: PM Gilani
I think Bhutto completed his tenure as he ruled from Dec 1971 to 76, and the problem started when he rigged the elections.
To be more precise Bhutto took over as president from Dec 1971 to Aug 1973, during this period the constitution was made after which he became the prime minister in Aug 1973. In July 1977 Bhutto was ousted, he remained Prime minister for less than 4 years but he remained in power for close to 6 years.
Re: Only parliament can unseat me: PM Gilani
Agreed. He completed the term. And by the same token Liaquat Ali Khan also neared it.
Yousaf Raza is well over 1450 days in the office, very near to the 1524 days of our first Prime Minister. Let’s see how long he lasts this term, he can also come back if PPP wins and so decides.

The allies will support the government come what may, on the other hand there is a lot of ego in both pti and pmln to launch a combined protest movement against the government. I wouldnt want any protest movement to be hijacked by the khaki people as well. Pti is ready for the elections or not I believe that the elections should be held by the end of this year at the most, October/November ideally. The government could announce the elections after the budget in may, I think the opposition should wait for that but if nothing happens then they can go ahead with their protest movement.
I agree that mass protests by pmln will attract a lot of people at this stage but we will have to see what actually they want to achieve.
