Blame it on the twisted party system that is British or Parliamentary in the name only. Whoever follows this system gets a terrible hodgepodge all in the name of democracy.
Look at India. Even after 60 years of democracy you can't get out of the crushing grip of Gandhi Klan. Sonia who wasn't even born in India gets to run this country from the dark allies of dynastic and partisan politics. Then the Modis and other RSS fanatics figured out a way to break the stranglehold of Gandhis, and guess how? Just kill 1000's in the name of a dilapidated temple.
Look at BDesh. They were supposed be more democratic than us. So who is ruling that democratic country? A military general. Why? Because the stranglehold of Sh. Mujeeb's daughter or the wife of an ex-general cannot be broken.
I have said it many times, and I say that again. The current party system is a jagiri aka feudal system. Every party from ML to TI to MQM are in fact jagirs of little rajas or Nawwabs. These Nawwabs sit in London, or Dubai, or Jiddah and guess what, there is no way in heck that a deserving candidate can ever come on the top leadership position.
And this is unfortunately true for Pakistan, India, BDesh, S Lanka and many other so called developing countries. And still none of them is willing to modify it. Everyone thinks this party system was revealed in Quran, Gita, or Bible. So you can't improve it, change it, or do something about ending the reign of Nawwabs and Maharajas who now masquerade as party leaders.
