I do not usually start threads of this kind…but this one is just too funny to pass on.
Adil Najam has a hilarious post hereon something he saw recently in Islamabad. The Czech prime minister was due to visit, and to welcome him, the government’s PR people decided to put up a banner with the Czech flag and Pakistan’s flag together. Only, instead of the Czech flag, they put the checkered flag, as you can see in the image below.
lol ok i used to go through that bridge every day for 18+ years because of school, and normally they do a really good job decorating (the flowers were amazing at zero point where this is), it was always fun to see how they would decorate the place when some important diplomat was coming... but this is funny, and its always funny how some indians would never ever let go of an oppurtunity to mock pakistan, despite the fact that their country is a much worse hell hole...

Hey...this is not about India-Pak....and I mock and deride my country (India) often on this forum.
But this one is out of the oridinary. This is exceptional even by desi standards.
Also, the source of this news is a Pakistani blog , not some Indian site.
btw, did you read the banner that says : We Pray for the Czech Progress and Prosperity
why not ..why not...Turkish are one the most bravest nation of the world..and one of the bset friend of Pakistan....we have relationships of more than 600 years...from Ottoman Caliphate...
This is actually genuinely funny. I can see how easily someone could print “check” flags to welcome “Czech” PM. That they actually printed a chess board and no one in quality control picked it up is just hilarious!!
well I work in event management and outdoor media industry in Islamabad but I admit there are some true paindoos working...as for the quality control..well these jobs are a political wrangle people put in tenders and arent awarded the jobs till the eleventh hour till all of avenues and jacks and shifarishizes and rishwaats have been used up...so most of the time these installation occur by proxy sometimes barely an hour before the motorcades arrive....
