Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

You apparently are blind or deny that Israel has MASSIVE military power it can unleash at any given moment. Only a fool would deny that they have the resources, weaponry and power to obliterate as much of the ME as she chooses. You are behaving live a typical blind Arab supporter. Full of machismo and bravado, but not much common sense.

Not to say Israel hasn't killed civilians in this campaign and in others, but everyone in Lebanon could be dead by now if they haven't show some sort of restraint. So unless you can acknowledge these FACTS, perhaps you shouldn't reply.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Nazi Germany also had MASSIVE military power that it could have unleashed at any given moment against civiilians, yet it chose to gas them in the camps instead, which was such a time consuming exercise. Only a fool would deny that they did not have the resources, weaponry and power to obliterate those people much, much more quicker, if she had chosen.

Not to say Nazi Germany didn't kill civilians, but they sure did show some sort of restraint by the methods they finally used, when they could have got the job done much quicker and killed a lot more as well. So unless certain people can deny these FACTS, perhaps they shouldn't reply.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

You mean like bombarding Downtown London Civilians with unguided V2 Rockets?

And have you ever read about the concentration camps? They wanted to kill people c*heap, so they actually had prisoners ripping out the gold tooth fillings after death. *Killing them with bullets would have cost money. The Nazis were probably second only to Stalin for ruthless killing.

Idiot.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

^
The Nazi's had a good business sense as well? They obviously showed restraint in killing civilians, and did it cheaply as well as you said by using gas chambers. After all they could had quite easily gone for a more quicker albeit slightly more expensive method by packing these people up into the camps and bombing them with V2 rockets?

I agree those people are idiots who time and time again justify, rationalize and excuse the killing of civilians by the Israeli army.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Israel lost previous wars against Hezbollah and they will loose again – well, they just did and now they are scrambling on how to justify this invasion. President Bush, decisive as ever, decided to go for cease-fire and international forces, something he was blatantly against two weeks ago. This is Bush for you who decides everyday.

International forces and U.N is a huge cover for Israel and United States to (indirectly) negotiate with Hezbollah, and call for some kind of agreement that will have zero credibility. They will drag on for weeks and months in order to find any kind of justification for the mass murder.

United States and Israel will try to put some strangle hold on Hezbollah by exposing them on the political stage. The arguments will be that Hezbollah are terrorists, they hate Americans and they hate and want to destroy Israel. We are witnessing the pre-load of it on our news stations where commentators, specials and victims are speaking up on their current and previous ordeals that they faced from Hezbollah; I wonder when Lebanese will have their say.

This propaganda will put Hezbollah on ‘hot seat’ and unless they come up with ‘stratifying’ answers. United States and Israel will play the victim card and tell EU to intervene in destroying Hezbollah military and politically. Otherwise, Hezbollah will politically neutralize and United States will declare victory. This will not be over as Israel and United States will be paying the price for this invasion for next 20 years, as emergence of Hezbollah will eventually change the scope of the entire Middle East.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Are you for real? No civilization has had a more ruthless and highly organized methodical program of exterminating millions of human beings.

The Nazis did not reduce cities to rubble, beacuse the wanted the buildings but not the people. Lets not color this as some type of mercy.

If the Nazis had occupied Lebanon, it would have taken them about 18 weeks to kill every Hizbullah fighter and sympathizers. They would have ethnicly cleansed the place in a methodical and machine-like way. The Isrealis did not do this in 18 years.

For as much as you guys throw around "Nazi" analogies, you really know nothing about the Nazis.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

asking again just in case you overlooked it, where did you get this new one from?

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

After the second Qana massacre of civilians Israel has pushed more and more Lebanese people into the arms of Hezbollah. Lebanon's PM has refused to meet Condi Rice unless there is a ceasefire first, and she pressures Israel into agreeing one.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

*Even Christians back Hizbollah! *

Hamra Street in west Beirut was once famous for its nightclubs. Today, these clubs are virtually deserted. My hotel is located close to this once-bustling street. The other night, after hearing the sound of heavy Israeli bombardment I decided, like many other journalists, to come out of the hotel. It was 1.30am. Despite the eerie silence and overall gloom, west Beirut looked extremely beautiful. While strolling through the area with some fellow journalists, I ended up on Hamra Street where I noticed that one nightclub had its lights on. Astonished, we decided to go inside, where we found a man with his head down reading Robert Fisk’s ‘Pity the Nation’. When asked what he was doing alone so late at night in the nightclub, the middle-aged man looked at us with great suspicion. He asked us to identify ourselves and when we told him we were journalists he immediately relaxed. He told us that he was waiting for two women from south Lebanon who work in his nightclub. They had left for Tyre that morning to evacuate their families and bring them to Beirut. When they arrive with their families, he said, he would take them to a Christian school nearby where a refugee camp has been set up. The man was named Basheer and had a cross dangling from his neck. I asked him about his Muslim name, to which he smiled and replied that Christians in Lebanon are often named Basheer. A former Lebanese president, Basheer Jamail, who was killed in a bomb attack in 1982, was also a Christian. I asked Basheer what he felt about Hizbollah. Without a moment’s hesitation he said: “ Hizbollah is defending Lebanon. A large number of Christians, like myself, are its supporters.” His reply stunned me. Here we were in Hamra Street where a Christian nightclub manager was openly supporting Hizbollah’s resistance against Israel! A French journalist asked Basheer whether he knew that Al-Qaeda leader Aiman al-Zawahiri had also supported Hizbollah and whether that made him have second thoughts. He replied: “ I don’t know what Zawahiri’s motives are. But I do know that if the Israelis reach Beirut their bullets will not differentiate between Sunnis, Shias, Christians or the Druze.” **He pointed out that the Israeli bombing of West Beirut in 1982 had destroyed a number of churches and that the honour of not only Muslim but many Christian women was also violated by the Israeli army. “ Only Hizbollah can stop Israel.”

Basheer pointed out that only Hizbollah has succeeded in defeating Israel. Today, six years later, Israel is still licking its wounds over its humiliation in South Lebanon.** He said that perhaps Sheikh Hassan Nasarallah would intensely dislike his (Basheer’s) profession. “Maybe he might not even trust me because of my religion. But if I want to live in Lebanon I fervently believe that only he can provide us security.” The French journalist said that because of Hizbollah, South Lebanon is in ruins and asked what Hizbollah has given Beirut apart from destruction. Basheer replied with more than a trace of bitterness: “ You European Christians are responsible for many of the problems facing Arab Christians. The US and Europe want us to become your agents and allies. In 1982 we did just that. But when the US and French forces left, we were at the mercy of Hizbollah. They did not persecute us, that is why we are with Hizbollah.” Basheer’s words were corroborated by a survey published on July 29 in the Daily Star, Beirut’s only English language newspaper. *The paper printed a survey conducted by the Beirut Centre for Research and Information which reveals that 86.9 per cent of Lebanese support Hizbollah’s resistance against Israel. Hizbollah’s actions have the support of 96.3 per cent of Shias, 79.5 per cent of Druze, 80.3 per cent of Christians and 88.9 per cent of Sunnis. On the question of Hizbollah capturing two Israeli soldiers, 96.3 per cent of Shias supported the move, while 40 per cent of Druze, 54 per cent Christians, and 73.1 per cent of Sunnis approved. *

On the US recent role in the Middle East, all communities showed their disapproval. A staggering 94 per cent of Shias viewed the US role negatively, while 88 per cent of the Druze, 85 per cent Christians and 91.7 per cent of Sunnis also reacted negatively. This survey was conducted only in Beirut and reflects the capital’s feelings accurately. Even though the Israelis have made a distinction between the largely Shia south and the Christian west, most Christians and Druze in the west of the capital do not consider Israel their friend. Some observers have claimed that after the present strife, a large proportion of Lebanese Christians will abandon the country. They point to the fact that western embassies are readily issuing visas to this community and predict that after the ceasefire the number of Christians in Lebanon will sharply fall. The ones who remain, it is said, will hang on to their identity but will seek protection from Hizbollah and be dependent on their goodwill. After spending ten days in the country, it is apparent that Hizbollah’s real strength lies in its welfare activities among ordinary people. The group’s hospitals are not solely for the Shia population but are open to Sunnis, Christians and Druze alike. The party can be described as a combination of democracy, Jihad and Ijtehad. Hizbollah made a lot of mistakes in its early years. It waged an armed struggle against the Shia Tehrik-i-Amal and Palestinian refugees. The beneficiary of such actions was always Israel. That is why Hassan Nasrallah in more recent years has focused his attention on Shia-Sunni unity and on conciliation with the Christians. The results of these actions are now there for all to see in Lebanon. On Saturday morning, Israeli jets attacked and destroyed a car belonging to a Hizbollah leader in the southern Beirut area of Al-Dahiya. When I got there with my cameraman, I heard patriotic music blaring from a Hizbollah truck and people distributing sweets to the assembled crowd. We learnt that they were celebrating the retreat of the Israeli army from a south Lebanon village of Bint Jabal. On our way back near Sabra, I saw some Hizbollah men distributing sweets in front of a church. A Christian nun, while eating the sweets, had raised her right hand in jubilation and was making a victory sign with her fingers.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

seminole, I asked couple of times of your source for this blame, is it safe to assume that you were making false accusation?

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

The Lebanese PM was yesterday thanking Hezbollah for it's brave resistance efforts against Israel.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Musharraf would have thanked Sipah-e-Sihaba as well. Luckily he survived the assassination attempts, and now Pak military is strong enought to cacth those "defenders-of-Mohammad's-comapnions" (yeah right!).

Lebanese PM on the other hand do not stand a chance if he makes a single comment against Hizbiz at this stage.

It is sad that Lebanese are caught between many rocks and hard places. Hariri and so many others got assasinated. Syria, Hizbiz, Amal etc etc. should now name Lebanon and just "non". Non-government, non-police, non-army, just bunch of malitias.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Please don't compare Hezbollah to a group that you follow and is as hateful as you are.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

hariri was killed by mossad agents..it was all preplanned meri jaan…hariri was killed…syria forces were out of lebanon(who could defend lebanon to some extent)…israelis set the trap for their own soldiers and started a war…
but yes,u people can even believe tht 9/11 was the creation of osama…agay mein kia bolo…

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

He is always making stupid comparisons. He cannot fathom the fact that a bunch of Arab tribals as he calls them are withstanding the might of the Israeli military, and becoming the hero’s of the entire region.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Wasn't his (and yours) Prophet, an Arab tribal as well?

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Our Messenger Mohammad pbuh was a semite,
just like our Messenger Eisa ah, Moosa ah, Abrahim ah, .....

He was sent to Arab tribals because the situation there (just like these days) had gotten out of hand. So Allah had to do something drastic by sending down HIS own man.

Unfortunately the Arab tribals were quickly back to their shenanigans. Who can forget the mindless killing of Imam Hussain Ah.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Yes and all Arabs are semites and tribal. Thank you for proving me right.

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

Israeli troops besieged Bint Jbail for a week, seizing houses on the outskirts and sending in soldiers to raid the town amid heavy bombardment. Hezbollah guerrillas fought back, trapping Israeli troops in ambushes. One battle killed eight soldiers — the Israeli army's biggest single-day loss. A ninth died the same day in fighting in the nearby village of Maroun al-Ras.

Overall, 18 Israeli soldiers died in the siege. Israel claimed to have killed up to 50 guerrillas, though Hezbollah acknowledged only about half that.

At the time, even Israeli officials said the battle was tougher than expected in Bint Jbail, a mainly Shiite town with deep symbolism for Hezbollah. Nicknamed "the capital of the resistance," the town showed vehement support for the Shiite guerrillas during the 1982-2000 Israeli occupation of the south.

** When Israel pulled back Saturday, it said it never mean to take Bint Jbail, only to wear down Hezbollah. **

The ba$tards change their objectives on the fly!!! Bet ya in the end their objective will be to run south of southern Lebanon which means mission accomplished and great victory... LOL......

Re: Only Hizbullah can defend against an Israeli invasion say Lebanese people

I have no doubt that if you lived during the time of the advent of Islam, you would have accused the Prophet Muhammad of being a terrorist and you would have accused of Imam Husayn of being a terrorist and hiding behind women and children at Karbala. Such is the level of your hatred and ignorance.
