only a PAK team can do this....

reading the All Today’s Yesterdays of 7 jan, i came across this…

1997
Not many teams could come back from losing their top three batsmen for nought to win a one-dayer, but then not many teams are like Pakistan. Against Australia they lost Aamir Sohail, Zahoor Elahi and Ijaz Ahmed, but Mohammad Wasim made 54 and Australia (whose top-scorer was Michael Bevan with 24) could not reach a target of 150.

Scorecard

:jhanda:

:jhanda:

I think this is the same series where Yousuf Youhana scored his debut 100.:k:

actually youhana made his debut (a 59*) almost a year later (28 March 1998)....
but he did get his first hundred (called a maiden hundred and not a debut hundred) against australia on 10 Nov 1998....
unfortunately pakistan lost both that match (despite a total of 315) and the series (aus won it 3-0)....

I can't rememebr this guy Mujahid Jamshed. How many matches did he play for Pakistan?

I still remember that match, not so much for Pak's victory but M Zahid's bowling, he was amazing in that match, he bowled around 150s consistently.

I think this is the only series he played.

ya i remember this match.. a lot of people still think it was a fixed match.. pakistan had a very strong bowling lineup in that series and they went on to win the trophy beating west indies - 2-0 in the finals..

thnx for correcting me:flower1:

Ijaz and Yoyo scored centuries and that was a thriller in the end.

I heard of Mujahid Jamshed and I think he only played one game and performed well.

ehsan bhi If u have any Qs about cricket, about any particular game or player u know who to ask .:D

Well anyway this was his debute game and the first ball he faced was driven through the cover for 3 runs, on a wicket where everybody struggled with the extra bounce he played with some authority, only hit a couple of boundries but over all looked very comfortable....apperently he lost the favor from his captian when he played a reckless pull shot of the bowling of chanderpaul and lost his wicket in the first final at Sydney, and could not even get regular chances after that.

The Game Responds:

*This entire tournament was awesome. Mohammad Waseem is being wasted; he is a class act. People, That Is All.*

I totally agree. He could have been Dravid of Pakistan.I always thought he was too talented and one of few Pakis who could score outside Pakistan. bad for Paksitan that he was wasted.Good for him that very soon he will play for NZL.

I 'm not sure, but I think it was Mohd Wasim who was accused of rape and then ousted from team.

Yep there was a rap case against him, he was found in a hotel of RawalPindi Sadar with a girl, who he claim was his cousin, and he had no illegitimate relationship with. But police claimed that they have found them red handded. Nothing was proved and nothing was heard of that story. i think may be coz he was a from Rawalpindi and had some contacts there......

But this was not the reason for him being outside the team.....Last i heard of him was that he is in NZ and in next Year he will be able to represent NZ if selected. There was a debate going on in Kiwi cricket Forums of weather or not he should be allowed to play for NZ and most people thought that he should if he is good enough.

That is one of the best series Pak ever played. They were just superb :k:

 Didn’t know any of that. i wonder if the Kiwis know abt his rape case? Anyway, sad to see he had to go all the way to NZ to play top level cricket. maybe he wasn’t good enough for pakistan cricket..or maybe he was just another wasted talent.

He’ll probably get selected in NZ team. We have a very good record against NZ which suggests that we’ve always had better and more talented players.
