Re: ONLINE/VIRTUAL PROTEST AGAINST BOLLYWOOD!!!
So you are saying that it is not the producers fault that he wants to intice the poor and needy to go watch his film. Yes, OK, he is a business man and wants to make his money and cannot worry about the people that he makes the money from. This is where EDUCATION comes in, those poor living in the slums, who ran to see these movies need an education to help themsleves in their life and stride away from poverty. The responsibility lies on the shoulders of those who are able - they need to help the unable. Why doesnt this big producer, afer making tons of money off these poor people, open up a school for those who cannot afford a decent education? Of course the bug producer doesnt want to do that, he is too selfish and greedy to want to spend money on his community.
Instead they spend money on a lavish wedding ceremony for a marriage between their hero and heroines and at the same time they keep Muslims outta the wedding because of "bad luck" or whatever other B*llsh!t they can think of. I think you know who I am talking about. Doesnt humanity involve helping each other to make each others life on this planet bareable for yourself AND those around you? Regardless of religion or race?
Problem is BH that people in India like these big scale movies. They want to escape from their slum dwelling life and catch their favorite star on the big screen. So it is not entirely a big producer's fault that he makes those song/dance routine movies. I think both parties are at fault.
As far as giving to charity - who are we to judge :) A lot of people give but don't make a public statement out of it. I think the South Asian culture tends to promote that where you're not supposed to show off how much you give to the poor. A lot of celebs do concerts and stuff to help the needy. They might not be in such a huge limelight as an Angelina Jolie or care to make it a public statement.
