xdrive seem to be nice, with good interface etc. but past week or so I’m not able to access its “plans” link to buy extra storage.
Basically what I want to do is
1- have extra storage on the net which will also come with a utility to access that storage space as a “drive” in window explorer – VERY IMPORTANT
2- gives me interface and tools to store my music and pictures and perform functions like sharing with others/slide shows etc etc
3- is reliable and secure – very important.
Any recommendations? Thanks.
Najim, thanks. I'll check it out. On a similiar note, I've a buffalo NAS at home with built in ftp server support. I've a cable modem at home so I can probably ftp in/out files on my nas at home remotely. but is there is a way or is there a software I can use that will allow me to remotely map drive that nas that's at home? Note that I don't have a desktop at home. I only have a laptop which I take with me to work so when I'm at work I've only nas attached to my cable modem. Thanks.
Yes you can do that but I'd strongly recommend over a VPN or SSH Tunnel not a direct link but I dont think u can run VPN or SSH Tunnel only on NAS Storage u have to have desktop / server running providing you these services.
