i know someone who applied online for a NICOP card, the folks behind the scenes not only took ages to have his card made and deliver, they also spelt his name wrong. Those guys would **** up a cup of coffee.
well me and my wife's arrived just after 2 weeks via DHL 24 hours service from ISB and was able to track it online.
but lil son is still waiting his first Pakistani ID, so many emails and chat, calls, online status seem to be stuck at frist stage, then after chasing and complaints, its moving now bit slowly but still waiting to get it after 7 weeks. so for back up i got him pak visa in case the NICOP isnt delived before departure.
so I can say service is patchy but much better than other departments of Pak.
it turns out that I had not filled out a mendatory field “place of birth” due to which they didn’t send me poc. that’s totally screwed up because if “place of birth” was such a friggin’ mandatory field then how come they let me submitted form without it? secondly, couldn’t they simply send me an email asking for the info to complete the process (i’ve to get this info through personal connection via a friend whose relative works at nadra and he looked up for me).
I dont’ know how much nadra is paying you but if I were you I’d just simply friggin’ quit man!
they probably just don't like you. After I had already paid, one of the NICOP forms was returned to me for missing a piece of document. I scanned it, added and resubmitted the form back and life was good.
in 2007...i applied for my NICOP..got it in 2 weeks [that too after i missed a document and resubmitted my application...online]...then applied for other family members and got theirs in 3 weeks. never had any problems. they were prompt in replying to my emails and its was a smooth process. if you submit everything required then i didn't think it should take more than 15 days.
I submitted 3 forms on the same day, no complaints for 2 arrived in 2 weeks. the third one which was required the most of my son cause he didnt have pak passport or visa, we still havent got it :( so had to get him a visa as my son is flying in a day!
me and my wife also have Pak Pasports so NICOP for us wasnt a necessity!
well if there was a problem, I would understand a delay. but in this case, they knew something that I didnt as it wasnt communicated to me at all. as the card status was stuck somehow at first stage of "Data Entry Completed - QC verified".
Initially I thoughts its a routine, but after weeks I raised the alarm on all fronts one by one, email, chat, complaints etc. every one said no problems there i should get it soon, Inshallah!
while they were courteous , but i get the feeling they were getting me off their back with that answer without looking into the issue.
after much hue and cry, status was changed 3 weeks back to "Printed", just got it by DHL today. :)
applied on 27th nov, got 2 in 2 weeks time, 1 took 7/8 weeks dont know why though.
for the service I guess, its fine mostly if there are no glitches. but if you have one, it will be long time required to resolve.
^^^ well thats true, NICOP remove the need to have another passport all the time with you. plus if one has anyother passport, they hardly use Pakistani passport apart from Pakistan. so its handy to keep this card and other passport! and these IDs are ICAO standard compliant ID and are also machine readable.
