I'm sure there are online jobs as people tend to hire others for online business development etc. But a lot of them have been found as either a scam itself or running as a part of scam. So you better be careful choosing one.
Now there are some IT related as well but thats a different segment as its pure technical.

I think you can find it on job boards like monster, dice etc. No idea where you live so check the local job sites. Websites like craigslist have it too.
Newspapers as well.
You have to investigate the source who is offering these jobs also what kinda work you are required to do. For example, Is it something like emailing 2000 people to send money over for some scheme? Its definitely a scam then
On the other side if it only is sending offers to customers for some new contracts or buying a new product, that should be good.

Hi OP, real work from home jobs are very very few . Most are either just a scam or are more or less investment based .
Are you willing to invest some money and are you good in sales? if yes then cosmetics like AVon and few other similar businesses might be of help for you . They will give you some basic training and then some targets . You will create your own clientele , invest your own resources and start selling their products .
Very scanty jobs are available in data entry but their authenticity is hard to establish .

utest.com pays you for testing apps. They have their own resources for training and friendly environment. There are other application testing websites (youeye)
There's a good load of transcription websites but you have to be good at transcription . Transcribeme and casting words to name a few.

What about writing and translating articles for different websites and creating unique content for social networks? Freelancers constantly get money for it. You can also sell photos (if you’re really good at taking nice pics) and your intellectual property. Look for some freelancer’s resources, it usually works, but you’ll have to get patience until you start earning real money.

Thats actually right. Content or technical writers do make money out of this. And i dont think its a big deal either to be one.
