Online Education

how good are those online degree programs?can a person go for them?do degrees earned from online colleges have as such importance and value as those earned from a college campus by attending regular classes?

Re: Online Education

the online only unis in general are not ranked pretty high so their comparative reputation is not as good as regular unis.

now there are regular unis that offer distance learning programs, in some cases you can see they were ontained by distant learning, in other cases it does not.

I still think that personal face to face interaction with classmates and teachers is important, and that is a missing piece of online only education that holds diff value for diff ppl, even if your degree looks the same as that of someone who went for inclass education

Online degree programs can be as challenging, or in some cases more challenging, than traditional face to face programs. They are ideally suited for stay at home moms and working professionals. One of the key criteria you MUST investigate when selecting an online program is accreditation. Some 'online only' institutions are not accredited through genuine agencies. Your best bet is to seek out online-only or hybrid programs offered from well-known accredited universities.

With regards to course interaction, it has been my experience that students interact MORE with one another in an online course. A good course designer will ensure that there are plenty of interactive activities, including but not limited to discussion forums, live chat, live video lectures, etc. These methods tend to draw out students who are too shy to actively participate in a traditional face-to-face classroom.

That said, online learning is not for everyone. If you struggle with procrastination or do not have a firm grasp of technology, you will benefit more from being in a face-to-face classroom. Online courses have clear deadlines, the same as in a face-to-face course.

I hope this helps :)

Re: Online Education

it is tricky.

you need to make sure that the school or course that you are studying is accredited and it is being offered by as distance learning for an online education program component by a well established university. it must award a degree or certificate at the end.

Re: Online Education

I am doing one and am so far quite happy and content with it.
I choosed it because the university is a very well know uni in UK and its accreditation with CAT points, thats important for me to get my diploma and eventually degree.
