Online communities more meaningful than local community.

A study, undertaken by YouGov, found that when people need advice or want to meet people, many turn to the Internet as a first port of call - some 43 per cent and 46 per cent respectively. Just 15 per cent seek out local events to participate in the community, and just 5 per cent look locally for help and advice.

This study was undertaken by 10,000 Brits. Do you think it is the same in our community? Are you a person who prefers making online friends? Does the society play part in such things .
