So I suck at designign but am thinking of stealing designs from others and then selling them for a higher price but with my own name on it. :k:
There seems to be alot of money in it

What makes you think that people will pay extra just for your name?
Anyone who is getting married is going to have the time set aside to do all the research and compare prices etc anyway.

well there are already tons of pakistani and indian online clothing websites that do what you are planning on doing. for example www.hinab.com....basically all she did was take pictures from pakistani magazines and post them on her site....also www.sila.com some of the outfits on there are from pakistani boutiques like lahore ke reet....i think its a shame that people who have no creativity go around stealing other people's designs. the only thing u should consider is that everyone will know that the designs aren't yours. the pakistani fashion industry is growing very rapidly and almost every designer has his or her own website. i don't think you'll get very far because the designers also have lawyers. Someone set up a website and copied all of HSY's designs.... HSY found out about it and now the website is gone.......

… im a fashion designer and recently 2 of my most favourite designs got stolen by another botique and was selling at a lower price than ours… i thought i was gonna have a breakdown.. all we could do was wish our customers knew that our clothing was of a higher quality than theres…
wish there were copyright laws in the fashion business… impossible to have such a thing but honestly… u work so hard at being creative and making something totally unique and to have any dimwit come in and steal ure ideas… its a violation of the highest degree i tell u !

both botiques are in the same mall… altho our design was up way before theirs… they managed to copy everything cept for material and were therefore able to cut the costs.. we used silk whilst they used polyester… my partner just told me that they had sold their outfit cuz of the lower price..i keep on tellin myself the person had poor taste to go with polyester

its like that guy who does knock offs of all oscar gowns… it hurts business man !
its a good thing we do mostly custom made orders.. less chances of stealing of ideas …
another good example of this kinda thing would be Stitches…any TO guppies notice how fast they are at copying what other stores have.. but their clothing is made using much cheaper fabric/sewing etc..therefore sell for much cheaper… go to smart set adn tehn go to stitches.. man… they have exactly the same stuff!

yeah it makes me furious too!!! i gave a design to a karigher in karachi and when he finished the design he hung it up in his shop…when i went to pick up my shirt he told me that some lady really liked my design and ordered 20 shirts to be made for her boutique…i was so pissed off but there was nothing i could do about it. some one was going to make lots of money of my creativity and i wouldn’t get a cent of the profit or any credit for my work…
