Concentrating on only the fundamental fact that the Muslims should act as ONE Ummah, what can we do to become one?

Someone has to start this and push the “Stone”…

How can we overcome the differences which according to the Holy Qur’an shouldn’t be.

Rules are:

• No insulting comments towards other Members.

• Try to understand your “Opponent” (I feel aggrieved when I read the Hadith that the Muslim Ummah is a whole Body and wherever there is pain we should come together to help each other\relief each other, but mostly don’t…)

Mr. Popat and LKK have already answered this … You know in Mathematics there is a concept called the “highest common factor” … I like this term … it is because it utilises the word “highest” … to me and you the word “highest” means “noblest” … that is the noblest common factor is the largest possible number that is the factor of two different numbers. An example?

Let’s consider 35 and 49 … First we express these as multiples of their prime factors we get …

35 = 5*7 and 49 = 7^2

Hence we conclude that the highest common factor is 7 … the 5 of the 35 and the other 7 of the 49 we don’t need to concentrate on because the common factor is 7 and our focus … and answer to the question …

Common factors can exist in concepts too … We all have basic tenets that we will someway down the line believe in … so we deal with each other on that level …

The biggest threat to being able to deal with HCF (highest common factor) between sects is two things:

a) Arrogance/Pride/Elitism Exclusivity
b) Ignorance

We should avoid trying to convince each other of our arguments, simply state what they are and why and then continue to work with each other on humanitarian or social grounds and that should see to a civilised development of humanity - so the logic dictates.
