One way ticket from Pakistan question

My husband has been running around to several travel agents to try and get a one way ticket to the US from Pakistan this month. The prices we see online on the airline websites are significantly different from what the agents are quoting and I feel like one has lied that the online prices don’t include taxes.
Emirates website has many tickets available this month for about 777 dollars and they also give the option of reserving the ticket online and showing up to the head office for payment and collection. Is this not a better idea than buying through an agent. Why is my husband so adamant about buying the ticket through an agent since they have flat out said there are no tickets for this month :mad:. Why are men so hard to talk to :mad:.

Y females always take so much tension .... you cant't put your self in other boots so hard .... so better to clam down and to understand in +'ve way :) ..... :)

if you wish, i can look up cheaper fares for you if you don't mind giving me [via PM, if you so wish] the details [not personal]...like from where to where? when?

btw, the round trip fares are not much more. consider buying return. buying online fares are always cheaper because they are up to the moment fares and some fares are for "web sales" only. by not going to the travel agent, you save his commission. the agent's interest is making money off of you. if he sells lowest fare available, he is gonna get lower commission ... common sense.

I’m frustrated because those agents are overcharging and he will waste an entire month tweedling his thumbs. :smack:

Thanks KKF. I liked Emirates option of booking online and paying in person at the office.

oh ok...but, why can't you book with Emirates online and pay by credit card. this would save you a trip to their ticketing office. may be it;s your preferred choice! :)
