One third of urdu speaking people of Pakistan live in Punjab. Thats not something i have plucked out of thin air, but, results of census conducted by government of Pakistan.
That’s interesting DD, never knew this.
CM, you can hardly call this provincial bull ****. Many people aren’t aware of this fact and it’s more of an information, tell me if you got offended with this post.
So there are only 6 million urdu speaking people in all of Sindh...if you take out Hyderabad, Sukhar and other parts of Sindh where urdu speaking people reside...then the number of urdu speaking people living in Karachi would be somewhat less then 6 million...so lets say there are 1.5 - 2 million urdu speaking people in Sindh outside karachi, that would then only leave 4 - 4.5 million urdu speaking people in karachi...this is hogwash to say the least...at least this number of urdu speaking people live in orangi town alone....
Aakhir tumhi bataao ke yeh andaze guftagoo kya hay?
I think moderators should intervene such insulting posts. CM could have said the same thing in polite manner.

CM is not easily offended, even with abuses, so i guess its pointless getting rude with him.

These are results of Pakistan census 1998, and population of orangi town in 1998 according to 1998 census was 0.72 million (google) though i have not seen orangi town population on Pak government census, may be you can search it.
Currently in Pakistan, around 7.5% of the population, or about 13.5 million citizens identify themselves as ‘Urdu-Speaking’. Of this number over 8.5 million reside in Sindh and over 4 million reside in Punjab and Islamabad. The vast majority reside in urban areas.A large number of muhajirs are educated and earn decent income, thus muhajirs are among the most highly educated and richest.
Cities with the largest approximate ‘Urdu Speaking’ Populations are:
Karachi, Sindh 6,500,000 (identifying themselves as Urdu Speakers)
Note: Figures are estimations based on the 1998 census of Pakistan and are rounded up to allow for slight population growth since the time of the report.
It must also be kept in mind the census done in 1998 was rejected by MQM and sindhi nationalists parties based in sindh because they felt there had been an undercount.
"Pakistan aagay hai" ... "yeh chor key aai hain"... "qurbaniyan dey key aai hain" are the marketing gimmicks MQM uses. I must say they are good at marketing with billions spent each year on Bhai's posters and banners, campaigns like "world's second best mayor" and millions spent on 'iftitah' of a ward in hospital. They'd do everything to attract attention, including flaming ethnic differences.
We need to differentiate between urdu speaking people and MQM. They do not represent each other.
I stand by my original comments. Supporting or fueling such idiotic provincial bull**** makes you no different than those ****ers who say we are MQM or we are hate the MQM. Learn to live beyond the notion of communal stupidity.
Ignore it and accept that we are all Pakistanis and work towards establishing harmony instead of causing discord. Threads like this only move to divide my people and make us weaker.
Speaking of Mohajirs! I believe that everyone in Pakistan is a mohajir (immigrant). Everyone has migrated from India. So what makes karachiites better mohajirs? We Lahoris are mohajir too.
