This came out of the blue! Fresh from the massive hit album “A New Day Has Come” last year, Celine has made a follow up quite quickly. Maybe too quickly?
The album starts off with her fantastic cover of “I Drove All Night”, which is a deserving first single. Celine has always done justice to songs she has covered in the past, and this one is no exception.
However, it’s all downhill from there.
The songs that follow are all mediocre, and nothing comes close to matching the classic Celine songs we all know and love. Out of fourteen tracks, there are only three that I would call better than average. The first is the single “I Drove All Night”, the second is a song called **“Have You Ever Been In Love”, ** which featured on the last album and deserves to be a single.
The third is a new song, called “Coulda Woulda Shoulda”. Before you ask, it isn’t a cover of the Beverley Knight song, it’s an upbeat number not dissimilar to her 2002 hit **“I’m Alive”. **
The problem with this album is that it sounds like it has just been thrown together quickly as a quick way to make money. It uses a couple of songs that were on **“A New Day Has Come”, **and the new tracks sound like unreleased songs that were rejected for previous albums.
Overall, the album is average. It can’t be classed as a bad album, but not a good album either. Maybe Celine should have taken some more time. ![]()
