re: ONE GOD, ONE CREED" -[Part-1] The Indus Valley and Noah a.s.
Peace,
Consider this: "As Archeological evidence suggests both were polytheistic, so they were invited towards on true God but they refused and were destroyed (killed) otherwise why they were killed (destroyed)? To guide these pplz on right path, one true God Almighty Allah sent His messenger Noah a.s. but they refuted him and were destroyed by flood. Basically, the polytheists were invited to worship only one God not many. The other characters i.e., tale of Ziusudra, god enki were actuall the myth to astray people from what is right. Maybe ziusurda and/or god enki referred to true God and His messenger but the historian presented in such way.
...
Where is the historical evidence of this "Godly invitation"? This is only religious hearsay and mythology with no historical basis and fact. Inserting religious viewpoints into historical happenings sets a dangerous precedent. What happens if 3000 years in the future, the world becomes polytheist and religious nutjobs declare that the Indonesian Tsunami that occurred a few years ago was a punishment from various gods for worshiping only one god ? Does it make any sense ? Better not mix historical facts with religious hearsay without any evidence to back it up IMO.

Peace calypsodc,
Have u ever heard about idols wadd, Suwa, Ban, Yauq, and Nasr which were worshipped by pagans? :)
Nope but I would like to read about them if you can give me some nonreligious historical links :)
re: ONE GOD, ONE CREED" -[Part-1] The Indus Valley and Noah a.s.
Peace calypsodc,
None related link: wikipedia :) but to find information one may hav to visit many pages and have to analyize many historical theories before any canclusion. I'm still reading this book so be patience b'coz there are lots of information (as written in this book) will be posted in seprate thread. :) I'll quote one reference i.e. a tribe who worshipped the wadd idol.
The idols:
Wadd was worshipped by the tribe of kalb at Daumat-al-Jandal, (According to the Sealed Nectar, Dumat Al-Jandal is located at about a distance of fifteen days march from Madinah and five from Damascus. According to William Montgomery Watt, it is 500 miles from Medina).
Suwa was the idol of the tribe of Murad and then by Ban, Ghutaif at al-Hurf near** Saba*;
*
Yauq** was the idol of Hamdan,
and Nasr was the idol of Himyr, the bracn of dhi-al-kala.

What calypsodc said in post 22. Everything inhistory and science should not be attempted to be explained by religion and vice versa.
re: ONE GOD, ONE CREED" -[Part-1] The Indus Valley and Noah a.s.
Peace Southie,
The main reason for explaning the history through the religion is b'coz the religion talks about what happened in history.

Peace calypsodc,
Any reason for disagreement?
re: ONE GOD, ONE CREED" -[Part-1] The Indus Valley and Noah a.s.
it wasn't meant to be rude - just giving you an example of how the claim the original post is making is just that ridiculous.
but while on topic of quraysh, i recently had an iranian friend tell me that the quraysh tribe is originally descendants of the persian king Koresh (Cyrus the great). i wonder if there is any truth to that.
By the same token Shakespeare was actually an Arab named S*heikh Zabeer! Right?

re: ONE GOD, ONE CREED" -[Part-1] The Indus Valley and Noah a.s.
You said earlier…
One small example, how do you account for this ?
Sri Pada (Sri Lanka) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
From the article…
The hollow in the lofty rock that crowns the summit is said by the Brahmans to be the footstep of Siva, by the Buddhists of Buddha, by the Muslims of Adam, whilst the Portuguese Christians were divided between the conflicting claims of St Thomas and the eunuch of Candace, queen of Ethiopia. The footstep is covered by a handsome roof, and is guarded by the priests of a rich monastery half-way up the mountain, who maintain a shrine on the summit of the peak.
So how do you explain this? The possible explanations are
So better to divorce religion and history . Once is faith which cannot be proved, the other is based on visible archeological and scientific studies which can be logically proved /disproved based on existing hard evidences.
re: ONE GOD, ONE CREED" -[Part-1] The Indus Valley and Noah a.s.
Peace calypsode,
In that case what I think one must read different religion to understand better and make a decision which religion is correct and which one is incorrect. Correct and incorrect in sense that a person compare the common grounds in different religion and at the end where all those leads to him.
Relying on one or another thing won't lead a person anywhere.
